Salary: Up to €2,600 gross per month (negotiable - depending on experience and qualifications)

Our client is an offshore company that began in Limassol, Cyprus, over forty years ago, in 1980. The family-run cargo ship-owning company soon became a specialist in managing and operating towage and salvage vessels. With growing expertise, they entered the nascent Eastern Mediterranean’s offshore Oil & Gas sector. They developed strong working relationships with oil majors worldwide, providing well-equipped vessels and skilled crew for effective oil rig support, survey, dive and ROV operations. Along the way, they developed a network of dedicated ancillary offshore and onshore services, which makes them one of the sector’s only horizontally integrated operators.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining safe working practices according to company and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate with management to develop, maintain and improve the management system’s effectiveness.
- “Be visible” in the field and onboard vessels, prioritising safety culture.
- Coordinate and manage project activities, resources, equipment, and information to ensure technical feasibility and quality of work within budget and schedule.
- Monitor dry-dock works and coordinate team assignments to ensure projected goals are met and any issues are addressed and communicated.
- Review the schedule for planned work and communicate progress as required to the necessary persons.
- Assign qualified and competent personnel to jobs to utilise their skill set and maximise performance effectively.
- Ensure employees are properly supervised and have all the necessary tools, equipment, specifications, drawings, and procedures to accomplish their jobs properly.
- Ensure close professional liaison with superintendents, masters, crew, suppliers, clients, etc.
- Walks every job before assignment to assess necessary preparations for efficient and safe execution of the work.
- Inspect works to ensure quality standards and attention to detail are met.
- Actively implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety and quality and reduce costs.
- Prepare regular and periodic reports, reviews, and drawings.
- Be familiar with the role within the Emergency Response, ensuring preparedness at all times and the ability to act efficiently and carry out on-the-job training as required.
- Take part in accident/incident investigation, analyse accident/incident statistics, identify trends, and suggest improvement plans.
- Ensure operating sites are kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure equipment is used per training, company policies and procedures, and the law and use of any safety equipment or PPE provided where applicable.
- Perform and document risk management to minimise potential risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- May be required to work in inclement and extreme weather conditions.
- Lead by example.
- Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
- 3 years minimum experience in a similar role or steel/piping fabrications.
- Ability to interpret information from engineered drawings and provide oversight to workers.
- Good knowledge of CAD software or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of all trades relating to dry dock operation or ship repair, per industry standards.
- Knowledge of DNV-GL, ABS and LR Class rules will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills, including multi-tasking and time management
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate with industry bodies at a senior level.
- Flexible in work times. May be required to work outside of normal office hours.
- Good physical condition.
- Proficient in English.
- PC literate, including good experience with MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Clean Criminal Record.
