Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Work-mode: On-site in Nicosia (open to hybrid arrangement)

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus

Salary: Fully negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5:30pm, Friday from 8am to 2pm


Our client is a well-established, family-run professional services firm with over 35 years of presence in the Cypriot market. With a close-knit team of approximately 15 professionals and a growing client base, the firm provides audit, tax, accounting, advisory, and financial reporting services to both local and international clients.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the firm’s accounting function, overseeing financial reporting, month-end processes, client engagements, and supporting junior team members. This position suits a hands-on professional who enjoys responsibility, client interaction, and contributing to continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end accounting activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare financial analysis and reports for management review
  • Generate financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS
  • Analyse financial discrepancies and recommend effective solutions
  • Coordinate and monitor accounting engagements to ensure timely delivery
  • Establish and maintain primary working relationships with clients
  • Review existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements
  • Assist with audit-related activities and the preparation of supporting documentation
  • Prepare budgets and support planning activities
  • Supervise, guide, train, and provide performance feedback to junior staff
  • Ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements, including VAT and VIES


Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with VAT and VIES (essential)
  • Very good knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and accounting software
  • Excellent command of Greek and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and support others
