Everything Sugar Creek does is expressed by six core values guiding its daily decision-making and planning. These are:
Sugar Creek believes that biblical life change occurs as people commit to four key areas of spiritual development. As they worship, connect, serve, and share consistently, people experience the life change found in following Jesus.

CHALLENGE & OPPORTUNITY
The global worship ministry at Sugar Creek is healthy, and the campus worship pastors enjoy strong bonds with one another. Corporate worship is a high priority, and the worship ministry on all campuses is known for excellence and authenticity with strong platform leadership. Generally, the style of music is modern, and they celebrate the church's diversity by seeking to identify with others culturally without compromising the message of the gospel. It is essential for them to employ culturally relevant methodology while remembering that the gospel message is unchanging. The dress is casual, and worship gatherings include elements of music, creative arts, and technology used to communicate and inspire. Depending on the service and campus attended, worshippers may see a choir, orchestra, band, or a mix of all three onstage.
On the Missouri City campus, the worship team is healthy and executes at a high level. Three gathering times are offered each Sunday at 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am. All are modern in musical style and feature engaging worship, life-changing teaching, and connection through strong, meaningful relationships. Combined, about 700-800 adults attend each weekend and the congregation is extremely diverse ethnically. Most who attend this campus are white collar professionals who are very family oriented. The Missouri City campus is growing and they see about 25-30 new guests per month. To accommodate the growth, they are in the planning phase of a campus expansion project to include a new children's space, worship center, and outdoor baptistry area. Overall, the project will more than double their current space.
The church embraces technology, and the Missouri City campus is no exception. Planning Center Online provides rehearsal resources and schedules teams each week. The room features an excellent PA system, and instrumentalists and vocalists utilize in-ear monitors with personal mixers. This improves clarity for musicians as well as for the house audio mix. IEM technology also provides the potential to run click and stem tracks easily. A large LED wall is utilized on the stage, and 4K video is used for lyrics and featured video pieces.
The new Campus Worship Pastor will oversee all things related to musical worship and the weekend gatherings on the Missouri City campus. This includes leadership of the band and vocal teams and the technical production (audio, video, and lighting). These will be accomplished with the assistance of the following:
The successful candidate will be a strong vocalist and platform leader who cares about musical excellence. However, this person should see themselves as a pastor and worshiper, not just an artist. They should have a vision for worship ministry that goes beyond the Sunday morning platform and impacts children, students, and adults. The new hire should be highly relational, lead passionately, and have the heart to shepherd and develop others. This person must be relationally connected to the Missouri City campus and seek to know well the people here.
This campus utilizes a small worship choir. It is not a traditional choir, and the new hire does not need to be a "choral person." But the new leader should appreciate what the choir brings to the collective worship gathering and be a champion for this.
God is using Sugar Creek Baptist Church! The new Campus Worship Pastor will work alongside a talented Global Worship Leader Team and have the opportunity to collaborate, songwrite, and learn from one another. All of this while being given the latitude to create a culture of worship at their campus.
