Overview


The Lead Pastor of Parkview Christian Church will serve as the spiritual and directional leader of the church, guiding it into a fresh season of momentum, vision clarity, and gospel impact. This individual will serve as the primary teacher, the leader of the Executive Team, and a partner to the Board, modeling humility, courage, and authenticity while uniting staff and congregation around a compelling vision.


This is a critical season in Parkview’s story. The next Lead Pastor must bring a rare combination of visionary leadership, relational intelligence, spiritual depth, and authentic teaching—while embracing the unique cultural opportunities of Chicagoland.



Primary Responsibilities



Teaching & Preaching


  • Serve as the primary communicator for weekend services, delivering biblically sound, engaging, and practically applicable messages
  • Model faithful, gospel-centered preaching with cultural awareness and clarity
  • Lead and develop the teaching team, creating a compelling, strategic annual preaching calendar



Vision & Strategy


  • Discern and communicate long-term vision in partnership with the Board
  • Champion innovation while honoring Parkview’s rich history and DNA
  • Lead the church toward fresh expressions of its mission: Reach, Raise, Release
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to translate vision into strategy and action



Leadership & Team Development


  • Lead, coach, and empower the Executive Team to lead their respective areas with excellence
  • Mentor Campus Pastors and serve as a unifying presence across locations
  • Build and sustain a collaborative, healthy, fun, and high-performance staff culture
  • Ensure consistency of vision, culture, and excellence across all campuses and ministries



Key Qualifications


  • A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Alignment with Parkview’s statement of faith, mission, and values
  • Significant senior leadership experience in a large, multi-staff or multisite church
  • Proven ability to communicate biblical truth with clarity, conviction, and authenticity
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership, organizational, and team-building abilities
  • Emotionally intelligent, relationally approachable, and spiritually grounded
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through others with humility and courage
  • Committed to planting long-term roots in the community and investing in Parkview’s future
  • Preferred: Theological or ministry degree and experience in a growing multisite church setting
