City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected bridging finance lender who have retained our services to appoint an experienced and well-connected Senior BDM to their growing team. Backed by increased funding & exciting plans to expand their product proposition, this is a key hire at an important time for the firm.


The Company


Our client is recognised in the market as a leading option for brokers and borrowers within the £0 - £5m space and have been operating with great success supporting the needs of brokers and borrowers for over a decade.


They remain boutique in size and have retained many of the USP’s that are integral to successful bridging lending. Speed, flexibility and the capacity to understand the exit. This has driven broker and borrower confidence and as a result, the lender is set to expand it’s product range and team, buoyed by increased funding and ambitions to achieve lending growth.


The appointment of a Senior BDM will be integral to the achievement of that.


The Department & Team


You will join a small but close-knit sales function and will do so as senior team member due to your experience and track record in the market. This means that it is likely that you will also work very closely with the company directors on sales and distribution strategy & delivery.


Whilst you manage your own broker and borrower accounts, it is expected that you will work collaboratively with other BDMs within the team to represent our client in the market, supporting the brand and brand ethos, including at shows and events.


Role Overview


As Senior BDM, you will ultimately be responsible for achieving lending targets that are agreed. You will strategically manage your diary of appointments and activity to balance the build and growth of broker relationships, the identification and onboarding of loan enquiries that suit appetite and the management of the loan pipeline, to completion.


To achieve this, you will also play a key role in managing internal relationships with other external stakeholders in the lending cycle, such as case management, underwriting and completions specialists. Together, you will work towards achieving important SLAs to ensure loans are completed in a timely and accurate manner.


Responsibilities


  • Devise and implement your strategy for achieving lending targets agreed
  • Identify and onboard new borrowers or brokers that you can support
  • Grow relationships with brokers and borrowers to increase lending volumes
  • Identify and onboard lending applications for loans that meet the lenders criteria
  • Liaise closely with internal and external loan stakeholders to achieve timely completions
  • Host events for brokers and clients and attend industry events
  • Achieve agreed lending objectives


The ideal candidate for this role must be an experienced BDM or Senor BDM with a demonstrable track record of achieving lending targets within the bridging finance sector. Current BDMs with the right background should apply for the ability to step up to senior status.


It is expected that you will already be well connected with bridging finance brokers and will have an excellent understanding of ‘what makes a good deal’ and ‘what it takes to fund a bridging loan.’


You will be highly proactive in your approach and driven to achieve lending targets, with a strong capacity to manage your loan pipeline to timely completion.


Candidate Requirements


  • Current or previous experience as a BDM or Senior BDM within bridging finance
  • Highly connected to brokers and borrowers active within bridging finance
  • A strong knowledge of the credit principles that underpin good bridging lending
  • A demonstrable track record of achieve lending targets and objectives
  • Results driven and proactive in approach
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills
  • Ambitious and keen to grow with the firm


On Offer


Our client is ideally looking to pay between £60k & £85k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, relevant to current experience. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent.


Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s excellent bonus structure that will reward you for the loans you successfully complete. This could drive a strong six-figure OTE, with the capacity to increase this substantially for overperformance.
