City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected & ambitious bridging & development finance lender who have retained our services to appoint a confident and knowledgeable Relationship Manager to their friendly team, at an exciting time of growth.

In a period of existing growth, our client is expanding their team to meet increasing market demand and to build on ongoing success.  


Role Overview  


As Relationship Manager, your primary focus will be working with brokers and developers who require access to fund for their property projects. To achieve this you will focus on developing and improving relationships with market introducers & borrowers whilst identifying and onboarding lending requirements that meet the appetite of the business.  


You will assist with the growth of the loan book, in line with business objectives. You will be expected to strategically manage your diary of appointments with clients and introducers to achieve lending targets that will be agreed.  


You will work closely with the Head of Sales and the wider sales and underwriting functions to achieve positive outcomes for borrowers, in line with expectation and SLAs. 


Responsibilities  


  • Engage and grow your index of introducers, brokers and borrowers within the role  
  • Be key point of contact for deal enquiries and assist with application onboarding  
  • Strategically manage your diary of appointments to achieve lending objectives  
  • Represent the company at industry events and ceremonies to support brand presence  
  • Liaise with the marketing team to drive your own personal brand in the market  
  • Liaise closely with internal teams, such as underwriting and case management 
  • Support external stakeholders to the loan process, including QS and legal  
  • Manage applications from origination to funding, in line with SLAs 


The Ideal Candidate  


The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience as a Business Development Manager or Relationship Manager within the property finance lending space, in particular working with specialist property finance and short-term loans.  


You will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, whilst being comfortable in managing your own business development and relationship strategies, to achieve agreed lending objectives.  


You will have a refined knowledge of what a ‘good deal looks like’ and will be experienced to support deals in the initial phases of onboarding and high level assessment.  


Candidate Requirements  


  • A proven track record of achieving lending targets within specialist property finance  
  • Well connected to brokers, introducers and borrowers requiring bridging or development 
  • Experienced liaising with internal and external loan stakeholders  
  • Comfortable when managing a pipeline of loans in line with deadlines and expectations  
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to nurture and manage relationships 
  • A good knowledge of the credit/risk principles that underpin positive loan funding  
  • Ambitious and keen to grow with the firm 


On Offer  


Our client is ideally looking to pay up to c£80k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, subject to experience. Higher offers would also be considered for exceptional experience & track record in this space.  


Salary will be complemented by access to our client's uncapped bonus structure, which rewards lending performance and will significantly increase year on year earnings. 

 

Most notably, due to our client's continued growth and plans to expand the relationship management team further, this is also a role that comes with plenty of further potential to progress.   


Due to the client-facing nature of this role, you will typically spend 2-3 days "on the road" with brokers and clients, plus 1-2 days based within our client's London office or working from home.
