They are seeking an individual who will assist with the growth of their loan book, in line with their exciting growth plans.  


Role Overview  


As Business Development Manager you will work from home base and strategically manage your diary of appointments with brokers, with a view to originating lending opportunities that match appetite. Your ultimate objective is to achieve agreed lending targets which form a key part of the businesses growth strategy.  


Once deals are identified, you will support the initial preparation of the enquiry before handing the opportunity in to our clients experienced case management and underwriting teams, allowing you to continue to focus on meetings, relationships and new originations.  


You will play a key role in liaising with the broker and borrow throughout, collaborating with the internal teams to meet important funding deadlines and parameters.  


Responsibilities  

  

  • Build and nurture stakeholder relationships to drive new high-quality business  
  • Represent the lender at industry events, networking sessions and partner meetings 
  • Train brokers and partners on products, criteria and lending processes  
  • Manage stakeholder communication throughout the loan lifecycle (new and existing) 
  • Prepare DIPs, indicative terms and credit submissions to support application progress 
  • Identify and recommend improvements to products, documents and processes  
  • Monitor applications for potential credit or financial-crime risks and escalate if needed 
  • Produce data, reports and presentations for meetings, training sessions and briefings 
  • Work closely with the underwriting teams and Sales Director to enhance workflows  
  • Consistently meet or exceed lending and sales targets in line with company objectives  

 

Candidate Requirements   

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with brokers and borrowers in a current or previous property finance role. Direct experience within bridging or development finance would be highly sought after.  

 

You will be comfortable when taking an initial assessment of lending opportunities and will understand ‘what a good deal looks like’ to match the appetite of the firm.  

 

You will be an outstanding communicator and negotiator, confident in winning new relationships and growing existing ones, and will be happy to be a key face of the business at industry level.  

 

  • Previous or current experience within property finance originations 
  • A good understanding of the credit principles that underpin good property lending  
  • A strong commercial awareness and up to date with market trends   
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills  
  • Highly organised and able to manage diary to strategically drive appointments & results  
  • Target-centric and confident of achieving lending objectives  

 

On Offer  

 

Our client is looking to pay up to £80k as basic package for the ideal individual. Higher offers may also be considered for exceptional talent. Salary will be complemented by a fantastic bonus structure to ensure an excellent OTE, based on performance.

As you may expect for such a role, you can expect to spend plenty of time on the road and with brokers. Our client’s HQ is in Central London.
