City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected & ambitious bridging & development finance lender who are seeking a proactive and intelligent Business Development Executive (BDE) to join their growing team.    

 

The Company   

 

Our client has built a strong reputation with property developers & investors for their fast and flexible property finance offerings. Renowned for their bridging and development propositions, they work with the broader broker market to assist property professionals with access to funds for key projects.   

 

The lender has recently undergone exciting transformation and has growth in mind. This will see the growth of their sales and underwriting functions to facilitate an increase in lending applications and the loan book.  

 

Therefore, they are seeking a proactive and ambitious individual who will play a key role in the front line of lending activity, supporting brokers and deal management prior to funding.  

 

Role Overview   

 

As BDE you will predominantly manage the needs of brokers at varying stages of the lending cycle. This will include handling inbound enquiries from brokers and borrowers and assisting them with their borrowing needs. This may also include proactively seeking new lending opportunities from brokers and borrowers throughout your engagements together.  

 

However a deal is identified and onboarded, you will take responsibility for the issuing of indicative terms and submitting loan credit proposals to the underwriting team. You will have full oversight of your pipeline and will be aware of borrower deadlines to allow you to drive applications to meet borrower SLAs. 

 

To enhance this, you will actively seek to identify the relevant information and documentation required for each borrower to allow the deal to be assessed and funded. You will act as the key bridge between the sales and underwriting functions, borrower and broker, to deliver funded loans that meet the appetite of the business and the needs of the borrower.  

 

This role will play an integral part in assisting the lender with their growth objectives as you manage applications to funding post origination.  

 

Responsibilities 


  • Main point of contact for brokers and borrowers with new borrowing requirements  
  • Proactively dial out to brokers and borrowers to identify & onboard lending opportunities 
  • Manage loans once originated, identifying and onboarding documentation & information 
  • Devise and deliver initial credit papers and loan assessments for the UW team  
  • Manage all stakeholders to the loan process throughout the lending cycle  
  • Act as the key liaison between sales & underwriting throughout  
  • Be a face for the company at industry events, networking events and broker visits  
  • Keep all records/CRM up to date, in line with best practice and regulatory requirements 
  • Assist with any required reports and data collection required from senior management 
  • Work closely with external BDMs to support their needs & requirements  
  • Achieve targets set  


Candidate Requirements  


The ideal candidate for this role will likely have some experience in a similar lending role within the mortgage or specialist property lending sectors. Individuals with experience in the bridging or development finance sector would be highly sought after.


Critical will be a confidence in communication and the ability to manage a pipeline of loans at varying stages of development. You will be an outstanding relationship specialist, a confident negotiator and proactive in your approach to tackling problems and opportunities. 


You will be target-centric and growth minded. Critically, you will have a real ambition to grow with the firm, in line with their own exciting plans.  


  • Previous track record within a similar role within the mortgage/property finance sector 
  • Highly organised and capable of managing a moving pipeline of loans  
  • A clear and confident communicator, with strong negotiation skills  
  • Target-centric and growth minded  
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills  
  • Ambitious and keen to grow with the firm  


On Offer  

 

Our client is ideally looking to pay £35k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, which will be relevant to experience. Higher offers may also be considered for individuals deemed to have outstanding direct experience and personality fit for this role.   

 

Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s very favourable bonus scheme too, where you can significantly increase annual earnings, based on performance.

This role would be based in our client’s fantastic London offices with WFH each Friday.
