City + Capital are currently representing an established specialist lender who have retained our services to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to their growing sales team. 


This is an excellent opportunity for a proven property finance professional to join an ambitious lender at an important stage of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing broker relationships, generating new lending opportunities and increasing the company's presence across an agreed territory.

Role Overview 


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing and maintaining a strong network of brokers, introducers and other property finance professionals across an agreed territory. 


This is a relationship-led, field-facing position where you will identify new business opportunities, develop existing accounts and build awareness of the lender's proposition within the intermediary market. 


You will work closely with internal sales, underwriting and credit teams to assess potential transactions, structure appropriate opportunities and ensure suitable cases progress efficiently through the lending process. 


The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to manage their region, diary and pipeline, while remaining closely connected with the wider business. 


Responsibilities 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and introducers 
  • Generate new specialist property finance lending opportunities 
  • Develop existing accounts while identifying new intermediary relationships 
  • Increase awareness of the lender's proposition and lending appetite 
  • Hold initial discussions around prospective transactions and assess suitability 
  • Present credible and well-structured enquiries to internal lending teams 
  • Maintain an active and well-managed pipeline of opportunities 
  • Work closely with underwriting and credit teams to progress suitable cases 
  • Maintain ownership of key broker relationships throughout the lending process 
  • Attend broker meetings, presentations and relevant industry events 
  • Work towards agreed business development and lending targets 
  • Maintain accurate CRM, pipeline and activity information 
  • Provide relevant market and competitor feedback to the wider business 


Candidate Requirements 


We are keen to speak with commercially minded Business Development Managers who are confident building relationships, generating opportunities and representing a lender within the specialist property finance market. You should be proactive, credible and comfortable managing your territory with a high degree of autonomy. 


  • Previous BDM, origination or relationship management experience within bridging or specialist property finance 
  • An established network of brokers and introducers 
  • Demonstrable experience generating and converting lending opportunities 
  • Strong understanding of property-backed lending 
  • Good knowledge of LTV, property security and exit strategies 
  • Ability to identify credible and deliverable lending opportunities 
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building ability 
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach 
  • Ability to manage a regional diary and sales pipeline effectively 
  • Comfortable working towards commercial and lending targets 
  • Confident using CRM and reporting systems 
  • Collaborative approach when working with internal sales, credit and underwriting teams 

 

On Offer 


The successful candidate can expect a basic salary of £60k - £80k dependent on experience. 


This will be complemented by a highly attractive uncapped commission structure, creating significant scope to increase overall annual earnings through successful origination and lending performance. 


The wider benefits package and full employment terms will be discussed with suitable candidates during the process. 


This appointment also offers attractive longer-term potential. The lender is continuing to invest in its sales capability and lending activity, providing opportunities for strong performers to increase their responsibility, earning potential and career standing as the business develops. 


The role will be predominantly field-led, with attendance in London HQ required when appropriate for team meetings, training and wider business collaboration.
