City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected and successful development & CRE lender who have retained our services to appoint a cultured and experienced Structured Lending Director to their busy team, at an exciting time of growth.

Our client is a leading provider of senior & stretch senior debt who have been operating with great success in the market for over 10 years. They are renowned for their innovative and bespoke approach, supporting property professionals including investors, landlords, business owners and developers with tailored facilities. 

Their product set spans development finance, commercial investment finance and mezzanine lending, with loan sizes ranging up to c£75million & beyond.

Role Overview 

Reporting to the Head of Property Finance the Structured Lending Director will oversee the origination of new lending enquiries, deal structuring, presentation of credit papers, loan syndication/sell down as well as the ongoing management of the borrower relationship.  

This is a true “cradle to grave” role, combining oversight of the entire lending cycle with a hands-on delivery approach. This also includes the presentation of loan opportunities to funding partners.  

You will be ably supported throughout all activity by the broader team of lending and funding experts, to ensure the best possible results are delivered for clients. It is expected that upon appointment, you will agree a lending target to achieve annually.  

Responsibilities 

• Engage the broker and borrower market to identify and onboard new lending enquiries 
• Devise and deliver on broader strategies to increase market reach & uptake  
• Achieve lending targets set  
• Actively assess new loan enquiries from a credit/risk perspective  
• Work closely with the credit function on deal structuring and decisioning  
• Engage funding partners wherever required, to achieve the desired outcomes 
• Liaise closely with internal and external loan stakeholders to achieve timely completions 
• Assist with the management of the loan portfolio & further borrowing needs  

Candidate Requirements 

The ideal individual for this role will be highly experienced in development finance and CRE funding and will be confident in their capacity to identify and onboard loan enquiries that match the appetite of funding partners.  

As this is a ‘cradle to grave’ role the ideal individual will have strengths across all key areas of development funding, including relationship management and originations, credit and deal structuring, deal execution and portfolio management.  

As you will be expected to present to funding lines and partners, experience in this area would be highly beneficial for success in this role.  

• Experienced within development and CRE funding to a senior level  
• Well connected to relevant brokers, borrowers and developers in the market  
• A proven track record in loan origination and exceeding lending targets  
• A strong credit risk skillset with the capacity to structure and present deals  
• Strategic in approach with the capacity to influence funding partners  
• A confident portfolio manager with capacity to manage loans to redemption  
• An excellent communicator and negotiator or in all aspects 
• Highly organised and capable of spinning multiple plates  

On Offer 

Our client is ideally looking to pay between c£100k-£150k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, with actual offers entirely relevant to experience. Salary will be complemented by access to our client’s favourable bonus structure too, which will significantly increase year on year earnings on the basis of the loans you write and ultimate performance to agreed objectives.
