Our client supports property developers and investors with access to debt for key property projects.
Alongside their development finance offering, the lender also offers a competitive bridging offering to enhance support to borrowers and their projects.
The focus is on ground-up development and refurbishment, with a capacity to support other requirements, such as auction finance. Our client’s business model is built around speed, commerciality and a strong understanding of property-backed lending.

Role Overview
As Relationship Director you will primarily be responsible for supporting the growth of the loan book, by identifying and engaging with lending enquiries in the market, that meet the lending appetite.
To achieve this, you will work closely with brokers and direct borrowers & will work with them throughout the loan cycle. This will include undertaking initial deal assessment/credit papers and liaising with the internal credit function on approvals.
You will ensure that you drive the pipeline forward in line with SLA’s and will target completions in line with needs.
As this is an RD role, you will also support the performance of the loan portfolio, including working with clients that may need to refinance, restructure or adapt their redemption plans.
You will be, commercially minded and comfortable representing the business as a key member within the development and bridging industry.
Responsibilities
• Identify and originate development & bridging finance loan enquiries
• Work the broker and borrower market to identify opportunities & build relationships
• Undertake initial deal assessments and work with the credit function throughout
• Progress deals in line with borrower SLAs & ensure timely completions,
• Support the performance of the loan book via activity to enhance client activity
• Represent the business externally across the UK property finance market
• Travel as required to meet brokers, introducers, developers and investors.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal individual for this role must have a quantifiable track record in the development finance market. This will include a strong track record in originations, as well as a good understanding of the credit principles that underpin quality lending.
Portfolio management experience would be preferred but can be trained.
Ultimately, you will be proactive in approach, quick to capitalise on opportunities and to handle concerns. You will be a strong negotiator and an outstanding relationship specialist.
• Proven experience within development finance origination
• A strong understanding of the credit principles that underpin short-term lending
• Strong market connections with direct borrowers and or brokers/introducers
• Comfortable assessing security, borrower profile, asset quality and exit strategy.
• Strong relationship management and communication skills.
• Able to operate with autonomy, pace and accountability.
• Comfortable working in a high-growth lending environment.
• Polished, professional and credible when representing the business externally.
On Offer
Our client is ideally looking to pay to c£120k as a basic package, though higher offers could also be considered for exceptional experience and potential. Offers are subject to experience.
Salary will be supported by an excellent bonus scheme that rewards you for the deals that you write and will drive a significant OTE, based on success.
