Emergency Physician – Full-Time

The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking a full-time Emergency Physician to join our innovative, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Timmins.

The Emergency Department at the Timmins and District Hospital sees an average of 100-120 patients per day (40,000 visits annually). As a district hospital serving a catchment area of 110,000, we offer a comprehensive community practice with access to most major specialties and imaging modalities such as MRI, CT and Nuclear Medicine.

There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Position Requirements

Candidates must:

• have (or be eligible for) Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Emergency Medicine, CCFP-EM (preferred), or CCFP
• be (or eligible to be) licensed to practice as an Emergency Physician (or Family Physician) in the Province of Ontario
• have (or be eligible for) certification in ACLS or ATLS
• have (or be be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage
• have excellent clinical skills
• have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care

Remuneration

Compensation is based on a combination of a hourly wage, Fee-for-Service and a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan. 

Incentives

1)    Relocation incentive is provided by the Timmins and District Hospital.

2)    Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $83,301 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a practice in Timmins.
