The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking locums to to fill various schedule gaps.
The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital that offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.
Details of Internal Medicine Locum work:
Internists will cover on-call, care for ICU patients, and provide consults for the hospital and district. Locum length is 7 days total, Monday to Monday.
Our Critical Care Unit is a 6-bed level 2 advanced intensive care unit that serves the community of Timmins as well as our District Partners. It is an open unit where general surgeons, anesthesia, and pediatricians have admitting privileges to the CCU. We have the capability of transvenous pacing, ventilation, and dialysis within the unit. There is a multidisciplinary team available, with Nursing, Respiratory Therapist 24/7, Social Work, Dieticians, Speech, and Physiotherapists.
Remuneration is a combined rate of $2,155/day, as per HFO Guidelines for the Northern Specialist Locum Program.
Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental, accommodations, and a travel stipend will be covered.
