Summary:

Essentra is currently hiring for a Secondary Lead Technician at their Flippin, AR facility for the 3rd shift (12:00am–8:00am, Tuesday–Saturday). The Secondary Lead Technician will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of secondary machining equipment and production processes. This includes ensuring running schedule is being conducted as written, make final decisions on the quality of parts, ensure parts are brought in from the warehouse for production, complete shift reports and timesheets and report to the Finishing Manager. In addition, the duties will also include the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the secondary machining equipment.


Typical Accountabilities:


  • Supervise and motivate a team of Finishing personnel, including reviewing the performance of subordinates.
  • Manage the adherence to work instructions and procedures to ensure complete compliance to Quality Management System process.
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
  • Keep hours on timesheet of employees on that shift.
  • Be final decision maker on quality parts.
  • Perform troubleshooting on secondary machining equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on equipment, including the replacement of parts such as pneumatic cylinders, proximity switches, lead screws, taps, and part fixtures.
  • Sharpen taps of all sizes to maintain the precision and efficiency of machining operations.
  • Ensure all machinery is operating safely and efficiently, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and any modifications made to the equipment.
  • Collaborate with other shifts on issues and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime. 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to: regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools and controls and occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to see and/or hear machine alarms.
  • Specific vision abilities required are: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to learn the processes and needs of the Finishing Department.
  • Patience and professionalism when working with machines and team members.
  • Basic maintenance aptitude, including mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving maintenance needs within the Finishing Department.
  • Positive attitude toward the role and collaboration with department personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
