Essentra is looking to hire a Tool Maker in our Erie, PA location for a 6-month contract. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for constructing new tooling or replacement tooling to blueprint designs ensuring all dimensions are met. You will:

• Build new tools to blueprints and documentation of steel dimensions
• Troubleshoot and repair tools or mold bases
• Troubleshoot manifold and controller problems
• Provide support to Changeover, Production, Engineering and Quality teams
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 
• Complete repair work orders. 
• Provide your own tools
• Work overtime as needed based on the needs of the business

Required:

• Must have experience working with hot runner manifolds and controllers
• Forklift experience
• Excellent knowledge of tool making procedures. 
• Good organization and planning skills
• Can operate all manual tool room machines and equipment
• Must be able to hold close tolerances consistently
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge
• Work safely in a fast-paced environment. 
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Must be willing to work a 6-month contract position
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 4 years tool & die apprenticeship or equivalent (working with plastic injection molds)
• Additional functions as assigned by management

Preferred:

• Working with injection molding machines and troubleshooting jobs
• Overhead bridge crane experience
