The HR Manager Italy, will have overall country responsibility, covering two Italy locations of Essentra – Milan and Bologna sites. Having a responsibility for Milan site harmonisation process from an HR perspective, as a result of acquisition.
Providing solid coaching and development to leaders and managers at each site to promote management ownership and good practice of people management.
This is a full generalist role which includes supporting site management across a broad range of people issues including talent management, employee engagement and well-being, management capability, resourcing, employee relations and training and development.
The role will also involve leading and/or taking part in the delivery of a number of HR projects and programmes within the Region.
Typical Accountabilities:
- Act as a business partner and coach to on-site leadership teams to improve leadership capacity and support on all people related topics/issues, ensuring alignment with the Group & Divisional HR strategy, as well as the European business strategy;
- Supporting and leading locally in the Region the Talent Management/Development process within the region;
- Supporting resourcing with key recruitments as appropriate at all levels up to management appointments;
- Managing the Company pay and reward processes in conjunction with Group Reward;
- Involvement in HR projects as directed, including any re-organisation programmes, organizational development and design work;
- Taking the lead on change management initiatives in the locations, as appropriate;
- Supporting the HR integration activities to create a ‘one business approach’ within the Region;
- To manage employee engagement survey & activities in the respective locations;
- Participate in and own HR related sections of any site ethical or customer audit as and when required ensuring all necessary processes are in place.
- Assist in partnering with management to ensure effective internal employee communication within client groups;
- Being an effective and challenging member of the HR team.

- Occasional travel to Bologna site
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven stand-alone HRM experience within a multinational environment
- Fluent Italian and English language skills - written and verbal
- Practical knowledge of Italian labour law
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on approach
- Task and result focused
- A numerate, commercially driven self-starter, with a practical business oriented style and the personality and skill-set to manage an HR service across multi-sites
- Good influencing and management coaching skills are essential
- Job-holders must be willing to travel on a regular basis across the Region as required in the course of their duties.
- Ability to communicate in other European languages - desirable
- Experience of MS Dynamics 365 - desirable
- Experience of mergers & acquisitions - desirable
