Job Description

The FP&A Financial Analyst will play a vital role in providing insightful reporting and analysis to the Americas Region and Divisional Leadership. This role is an integral role in providing support to the functional business areas by analyzing data and creating value-added reporting that will help drive improvements within the company.


This job will be based in Erie, PA or Houston, TX and will be a hybrid job, requiring one to work in the office 3x per week. We are not offering relocation assistance and are focusing on local candidates in either Erie or Houston.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Financial Analyst serves as the analytical engine of the company to identify key financial drivers and optimize decision-making processes
  • Deliver the current FP&A reporting systems, seeking ongoing opportunities to improve, simplify, enhance and improve the process and information flows
  • Identify relevant insights and compile analytical reports that enable functional leaders of Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial to make sound decisions
  • Pro-actively identify business trends and prepare insightful reporting that is used to take action and ultimately improve profitability
  • Support FP&A team during forecast and plan process to help build a detailed and accurate forecast by partnering with the organization to gather inputs
  • Build reporting to track forecast accuracy within the P&L, Balance Sheet, Working Capital, and Operating Cash Flow segments and provide insight on areas of improvement
  • Support forecasting process by gathering various data sets, analyzing trends, analyzing variances and current performance metrics
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to understand variances against the forecast
  • Build dashboards to report financial KPI’s to help drive improvements within the Finance Team 
  • Assist project teams with financial guidance and ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Derive insights and handle ambiguity or problems where limited data is available
  • Post mortem Capital Expenditure reviews to understand actual ROI compared to projected
  • Leverage internal data analytical tools to drive insights from which business decisions can be made e.g. ERP-LX (BPCS), Alteryx, Power BI, Anaplan
  • Monthly financial business review presentation
  • Use data analytics to help support business decisions
  • Create financial PowerBI reporting
  • Understand and interpret monthly financial results
  • Analyze discrepancies from forecast/plan and communicate trends
  • Assist with yearly Plan and Forecast revisions
  • Ensure SOP’s for routine tasks and reports are updated regularly
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Perform related job duties as assigned.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus at least 3 years of related experience.
  • Proven work experience in financial and data analysis
  • Adept at queries, writing reports, and making presentations
  • Strong Excel skills with experience using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, VLOOKUP, INDEXMATCH, etc)
  • Ability to develop clear models to represent sophisticated financial situations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentational skills
  • Ability to present financial information to a non- financial audience
  • Willing to work in the Erie or Houston office 3 days per week.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, or logistics industries is preferred but not required.
  • CPA designation is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience working with PowerBI, Anaplan or Alteryx (data visualization software) is a plus
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish a plus but not required.
