This is a hybrid role with expectation of working in our Kidlington office 2-3 days per week.


We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Specialist who will work to support the BPR project and our internal Data Migration team. 


This is a critical role within a complex, cross-functional programme to implement Microsoft D365 across our Global operation. The role responsibilities will include performing data migrations, automating data enrichment tasks, troubleshooting, and debugging system issues, and enhancing system performance in relation to data migration activities. 

 

The Data Migration Specialist will also be tasked with extracting, transforming, and loading data to meet regional implementation data needs and ensure a successful go live. Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency is a crucial part of their role, as is automating ETL workflows to save time and reduce errors. They will collaborate with other data professionals to ensure data quality and troubleshoot data integration issues. 

 

This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver an ERP rollout, aiming to ensure globally aligned and efficient processes to enhance customer satisfaction. 


Responsibilities:


Successful Migration of BPCs (on or other legacy systems) to D365: 

  • Performing Data Migrations: perform data migrations and automate data enrichment tasks. 
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: troubleshoot and debug data and system issues. 
  • Analysing and Enhancing System Performance: analyse and enhance system performance in relation to data migration activities. 
  • Extracting, Transforming, and Loading Data: extract, transform, and load data to facilitate GAB data needs to achieve a successful go live. 
  • Ensuring Data Quality: ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency. 
  • Automating ETL Workflows: automate ETL workflows to save time and reduce errors. 
  • Collaborating with Other Data Professionals: collaborate with other data professionals to ensure data quality and troubleshoot data integration issues. 

 

Data Migration Support for BPR Programme: 

  • Collaborate with the BPR programme team to understand their specific data migration needs. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the data migration process. 


Documentation of Data Migration Approaches: 

  • Document all data migration approaches in detail, including the tools used, steps followed, and decisions made. 
  • Ensure that Konnexia provides all necessary documentation as part of their exit from the BPR project. 


Training and Support Plan Development: 

  • Provide ongoing support to ensure the team is comfortable with the new processes and tools. 


Support for BPR Cutover Activities: 

  • Work closely with the BPR programme team during cutover activities to ensure a smooth transition. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the data migration process. 


Skills and Experience:


Data Migration Expertise: 

  • Performing data migrations and automating data enrichment tasks. 
  • Extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data to facilitate successful go live. 

 

Technical Proficiency: 

  • Troubleshooting and debugging data and system issues. 
  • Analysing and enhancing system performance related to data migration activities. 
  • Automating ETL workflows to save time and reduce errors. 


Data Quality Management: 

  • Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency. 
  • Collaborating with other data professionals to ensure data quality and troubleshoot data integration issues. 

 

Collaboration and Support: 

  • Collaborating with the BPR programme team to understand specific data migration needs. 
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the data migration process. 
  • Working closely with the BPR programme team during cutover activities to ensure a smooth transition. 

 

Documentation and Training: 

  • Documenting all data migration approaches in detail, including tools used, steps followed, and decisions made. 
  • Providing ongoing support to ensure the team is comfortable with new processes and tools.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Batchelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 
  • Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages 
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, etc. 
  • Strong understanding of database structures, data modelling and data management
