Location: Crescent City, CA

Visit Frequency: Every 2 weeks

Visit Duration: approximately 4 hours

RPM ReSearch has been engaged by an innovative global clinical research organization to identify experienced Registered Nurses who are passionate about patient care and interested in supporting the future of medicine.

Our client specializes in bringing clinical trials directly to patients through decentralized and hybrid clinical trial models, helping reduce geographic, logistical, and socioeconomic barriers to research participation. By conducting study visits in patients' homes and local communities, they are helping accelerate the development of life-changing therapies while making clinical trials more accessible to patients across the country.

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses for flexible, per diem opportunities supporting clinical research visits in the community.

About the Opportunity

This is an ideal opportunity for nurses who enjoy autonomy, value flexibility, and would like to supplement their income while contributing to groundbreaking clinical research.

Assignments are scheduled based on patient needs and your availability. Most patient visits last approximately 2–4 hours, with visits typically occurring every few weeks. This is not a full-time position—it is designed to provide maximum scheduling flexibility while allowing you to continue your primary nursing role or other professional commitments.

In addition to competitive hourly compensation, all required training is paid, along with travel time and mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Depending on the clinical trial protocol, responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting in-home patient visits
  • Administering investigational medications and infusions
  • IV insertion and infusion administration
  • Phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Subcutaneous injections
  • Patient assessments and safety monitoring
  • Accurate clinical documentation
  • Ensuring protocol compliance and patient safety throughout each visit

Qualifications

Requirements will vary somewhat depending on the specific study, but candidates should generally possess:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
  • Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience
  • Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills
  • Infusion experience
  • Experience administering subcutaneous injections
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while following detailed clinical protocols
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel locally to patient homes

Clinical research experience is welcomed but not required. Comprehensive study-specific training is provided.

What We Offer

  • Flexible per diem scheduling
  • Typical patient visits lasting approximately 2–4 hours
  • Competitive hourly compensation
  • Paid travel time | Mileage reimbursement | Paid onboarding and study-specific training
  • Continuing education opportunities
  • The opportunity to expand your clinical skills across a variety of therapeutic areas
  • The chance to play a direct role in advancing clinical research and helping bring new therapies to patients sooner

If you've ever wanted to contribute to the future of medicine while maintaining flexibility in your schedule, this is an outstanding opportunity to do both.
