Location: Susquehanna County, PA (Minutes from Binghamton, NY & Scranton/Clarks Summit, PA)

Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Role Overview

Escape the burnout, unpredictable hours, late-night emergencies, and owner drama of traditional private practice. We are a premier companion animal nutrition and welfare facility dedicated to advancing pet food health and palatability while putting animal well-being at the center of everything we do.

Unlike fast-paced emergency clinics or high-stress regulatory trial environments, our operation centers on high-quality routine clinical care, preventive medicine, soft-tissue procedures, and enrichment for a thriving resident colony of dogs and cats. Living in community suites with outdoor access and dedicated play areas, our animals receive personal attention every day. As our Clinical Veterinarian, you will enjoy full clinical authority, leading an established team of 8 veterinary technicians while maintaining a predictable schedule and genuine work-life balance.

Why You’ll Love This Opportunity

  • Predictable Schedule & True Work-Life Balance: No weekend on-call duty, no late-night emergency calls, and regular day-to-day operational hours. When your workday ends, your time is entirely your own.
  • Immediate Leadership & Strong Support: Direct and mentor a skilled, dedicated team of 8 Veterinary Technicians backed by pipeline feeder programs from top regional veterinary technology schools.
  • High Clinical Impact & Hand Speed: Build high-volume surgical and clinical proficiency through routine spays, neuters, minor soft-tissue surgeries, and preventive colony healthcare.
  • Meaningful Welfare Focus: Work alongside our Animal Enrichment Team to oversee cageless housing, socialization programs, and high animal-welfare standards aligned with USDA and AAALAC guidelines.
  • Competitive Compensation Package: Earn an exceptional $160,000 to $200,000 annual salary in a region offering a remarkably low cost of living and strong purchasing power.
  • Global & Diverse Talent Welcome: We welcome U.S.-licensed DVMs/VMDs, passionate new graduates, and foreign-educated veterinarians actively completing their U.S. credentials (PAVE/NAVLE pathways). (Note: Candidates must possess valid, independent U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available at this time).

Key Responsibilities & Performance Impact

  • Clinical Operations & Surgery: Deliver high-quality routine medical care, preventive healthcare, spays, neuters, minor soft-tissue surgeries, and wellness treatments for resident feline and canine populations.
  • Colony Health Oversight: Oversee daily health and wellness to ensure trial-related illnesses remain minimal and all animals receive timely, documented medical assessments.
  • Technician & Staff Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and direct daily task assignments for the 8-person Veterinary Technician team, fostering a supportive and high-performing clinical culture.
  • Enrichment & Welfare Standards: Collaborate with on-site researchers and enrichment staff to continuously refine housing, socialization, and welfare protocols that exceed industry standards.
  • Protocol & Compliance Review: Review and approve the veterinary care components of nutritional studies to balance animal well-being with scientific reliability, without the burden of complex study design.

Qualifications

  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent international veterinary degree.
  • Pennsylvania veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days).
  • Strong interest or background in routine clinical care, preventive medicine, basic surgery, or group-housed animal welfare.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to direct technician staff and train non-veterinary team members.
  • Work Authorization: Open to foreign-trained veterinarians holding valid U.S. work authorization. (Please note: Visa sponsorship is not offered for this role).
