Key Responsibilities

Research Excellence (60-70% of Role)

• Lead pioneering research in veterinary biomedical sciences, focusing on areas such as pharmacology, toxicology, and ecotoxicology.
• Secure extramural funding through grant writing and foster collaborative research initiatives.
• Mentor graduate and veterinary students, encouraging their active participation in research endeavors.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences to uphold SGU’s reputation for innovation.
• Oversee student research activities and support the Island Veterinary Scholars Program, promoting hands-on learning experiences.

Teaching & Mentorship (20-30% of Role)

• Deliver engaging lectures, interactive lessons, and laboratory sessions that inspire and educate students.
• Develop curricula that integrate practical research applications into veterinary education.
• Provide mentorship to graduate and veterinary students, guiding their academic and professional development.

Service & Community Engagement (10% of Role)

• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and advisory roles.
• Collaborate on outreach initiatives that positively impact Grenada’s local and regional communities.
• Support the academic advisory system for DVM students, fostering their personal and professional growth.
