Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Renew Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas as they search for their next Associate Pastor. Renew Church is a growing, multigenerational, independent church rooted in the Wesleyan tradition and committed to biblical teaching, meaningful worship, intentional discipleship, and strong community connection. The church’s mission is simple and clear: Love God. Love People. Make Disciples of Jesus Christ. 


The Associate Pastor will partner closely with Lead Pastor, Jace Holmes, to shepherd the congregation, develop staff and ministry leaders, strengthen discipleship, and provide leadership across the life of the church. Renew is looking for an experienced pastor who can bring both relational warmth,  practical leadership, and who can help turn vision into action while caring deeply for people.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Renew Church is entering an important season of growth and organizational development. The church is relatively new to operating independently after its transition from the United Methodist Church, and its leadership is intentionally strengthening staff structure, discipleship systems, pastoral care, and ministry alignment. The Associate Pastor will help Renew build healthy systems for discipleship and leadership while remaining deeply engaged in the relational work of shepherding people.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide biblical preaching and teaching.
  • Collaboratively discern and communicate God's vision.
  • Lead alongside the elders and pastoral staff.
  • Develop leaders through discipleship and mentoring.
  • Shepherd the congregation through pastoral care.
  • Strengthen outreach, community partnerships, and evangelism.
  • Oversee staff leadership, strategic planning, and ministry development.
