The Lead Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual shepherd, teacher, and leader of Grace Life Bible Church. Working alongside the elder board, staff, and ministry leaders, he will provide biblical teaching, pastoral care, and organizational leadership while equipping the congregation to grow in their faith and serve others. This is an opportunity for a pastor who loves God’s Word, genuinely cares for people, and has a desire to build upon a healthy ministry while helping the church move forward.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Grace Life Bible Church is seeking a Lead Pastor who will build upon the church’s strong foundation of biblical teaching, discipleship, and meaningful relationships. The next pastor will have the opportunity to lead a congregation that values Scripture, genuinely cares for one another, and desires to make a lasting impact in Omaha and beyond. The church is looking for someone who can honor its history while bringing fresh vision, strong leadership, and a passion for helping people grow in their relationship with Christ.

Working in partnership with the elder board, the Lead Pastor will provide spiritual direction, oversee staff and ministry leadership, and help equip the congregation for meaningful ministry. The ideal leader will balance excellent biblical teaching with genuine pastoral care and the ability to guide a growing church. Above all, Grace Life desires a pastor who will faithfully shepherd its people, develop future leaders, and help the church continue its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Preaching and Teaching

• Serve as the primary preacher and teacher, delivering biblically faithful, Christ-centered, primarily expositional sermons.
• Develop and oversee the church’s preaching and teaching direction, ensuring alignment with its doctrinal convictions.
• Equip believers to understand, apply, and live out God’s Word.

Spiritual Leadership and Vision

• Provide spiritual direction while championing the church’s mission, vision, and values.
• Foster a culture of discipleship, evangelism, prayer, and spiritual growth.
• Identify ministry opportunities and guide strategic planning efforts.

Shepherding and Pastoral Care

• Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and encouragement to the congregation.
• Build meaningful relationships with members and demonstrate a genuine heart for people.
• Oversee pastoral care efforts in partnership with elders, staff, and ministry leaders.

Leadership Development

• Lead, mentor, and equip church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
• Identify and develop future leaders within the congregation.
• Encourage members to discover and use their spiritual gifts in ministry.

Church Leadership and Administration

• Work collaboratively with the elder board in providing leadership and direction for the church.
• Oversee church staff, providing accountability, encouragement, and support.
• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and ministry evaluation.

Community Engagement and Outreach

• Represent Grace Life Bible Church within the Omaha community.
• Encourage outreach, evangelism, and local and global missions.
• Build relationships with community leaders, ministry partners, and mission organizations.
