Apply for this job

Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Buckeye Christian Church in Grove City, Ohio as they search for their next Associate Minister. Buckeye is a growing, non-denominational Christian church with a mission to Reach, Restore, and Replicate. Located just south of Columbus in one of Central Ohio’s fastest-growing communities, Buckeye is known for its authentic relationships, strong volunteer culture, and commitment to helping people take their next step with Jesus.

The church has experienced healthy momentum in recent years and is looking for the right leader to help build on that foundation. This is not a church searching for someone to reinvent who they are. Instead, Buckeye is looking for someone who will become part of the church family, invest in people, and help strengthen the ministries that are already making an impact.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Someone who genuinely loves people and enjoys helping them grow in their faith.
  • A leader developer who naturally equips volunteers and invests in others.
  • A self-starter who brings organization, initiative, and follow-through.
  • A collaborative teammate who works well with staff, elders, deacons, and ministry leaders.
  • Humble, authentic, approachable, and excited to become part of the life of the church.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Minister will serve as a key member of the leadership team, working alongside the Lead Minister, staff, elders, and volunteers to help carry out the mission of Buckeye Christian Church. While this role includes preaching, pastoral care, and discipleship responsibilities, the church consistently described this position as much more than a traditional associate role.

The right candidate will help develop leaders, strengthen volunteers, support ministry teams, and provide leadership across the church. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, investing in people, and helping a healthy church continue moving forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and strengthen the church’s discipleship efforts.
  • Develop, equip, and encourage volunteers and ministry leaders.
  • Help guests and new attendees get connected and engaged in the life of the church.
  • Partner with the Lead Minister, staff, and elders to implement the church’s vision.
  • Provide pastoral care, relational ministry, and leadership support across the congregation.
  • Preach and teach as needed, delivering biblically grounded messages that encourage spiritual growth.
