Seeking a Colorado local Cyber Security Admin with strong experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and general networking.

SUMMARY

The State of Colorado is seeking an experienced Cyber Security to provide specialized network and cyber Security administration support to ensure state agencies maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructures. This role focuses on the mitigation of operational challenges, hardware lifecycles, and the execution of critical security requests.

RESPONSIBLITIES

The Contractor shall perform network security tasks for various state agencies, specifically focusing on:

• Administrative Daily Responsibilities: Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests
• Infrastructure Modernization: Facilitating the decommissioning and "refresh" of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis
• Compliance Maintenance: Implementing security controls and configurations to ensure agencies remain in alignment with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards
• Hardware Administration: Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Palo Alto Firewalls: Next-generation firewall features such as, Zones, security policies, S2S VPN, Natting, and basic threat prevention
• Cisco ASA Firewalls: Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management
• General Networking: foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model ETC.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Requires participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after-hours incidents
• Must be available for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours
• If you are hired as vendor staff who will have access to state systems or data or as a contractor for one of the state executive branch consolidated agencies, in adherence to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-37.5-401, 403, 404, 405, and 406, and Colorado Information Security Policy (CISP) 002, you will be required to self-register and complete information security training, including but not limited to review and acknowledgement of the Acceptable Use of State Data and IT Resource Policy (AUP) (CISP-018), through the consolidated agency contractor information security training site within 30 days of your contract start date and annually thereafter. Should you be awarded this contract, the state agency will provide the contractor information security training site information to you.
