Our client is seeking a Director of PMO, to lead a mature Project Management Office, overseeing a portfolio of enterprise initiatives and managing multiple project managers.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-5 project managers to ensure consistent delivery and professional growth
- Oversee project portfolio planning, execution, governance, and reporting across IT and business initiatives
- Partner closely with the Transformation Management Office on prioritization of strategic and transformative projects
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to plan, allocate, and optimize project and resource capacity
- Ensure consistent and effective application of project methodologies, standards, and best practices
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project and portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and outcomes
- Directly manage selected high-impact or complex projects requiring senior-level oversight
- Drive continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, metrics, and governance models and security requirements
- Close collaboration with Organizational Change Management to ensure process and toll adoption
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leading teams and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Experience using PMBOK to set best practices, processes, terminologies, and techniques to create a company standard
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop project managers at varying levels of experience
- Experience partnering with business and IT leaders and contributors to align project delivery with business objectives
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, changing environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including crisp presentations and status reporting
Preferred:
- Professional project management certification such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent. Experience using Prosci change management methodology
