Seeking an experience Software test analyst who can develop and execute test cases; identify, document, and track software defects; and ideally has professionally used Azure DevOps and SQL.


SUMMARY


We are seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst 5 – Contractor to support software testing and quality assurance activities for technology initiatives and ongoing application enhancements. The contractor will work closely with IT, development, business analysts, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure applications and system changes meet defined requirements and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Review requirements and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks.
  • Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and validate fixes.
  • Create comprehensive code coverage with the creation of automated test banks and automated regression test banks that are repeatable. 
  • Create comprehensive metrics and quality of tests against requirements. 
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation, including SQL queries as needed.
  • Test system integrations, interfaces, APIs, and application workflows.
  • Conduct regression testing following application changes and releases.
  • Support deployment and production validation activities.
  • Maintain testing documentation, results, and defect tracking records.
  • Provide regular status updates regarding testing progress, defects, risks, and outstanding issues.
  • Participate in project meetings, requirements reviews, and release planning.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase testing efficiency and application quality.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in IT quality assurance, software testing, systems analyst
  • 5+ Hands-on experience developing and executing test cases
  • 5+ Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects
  • 5+ Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar testing/defect management platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines

 Preferred:

  • Experience with SQL and database testing
  • Experience testing APIs and system integrations
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience with web-based and enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of SDLC and software testing methodologies
  • Experience supporting large-scale IT projects or system implementations
