Work Model Remote Option on Contract Period, Full Time Onsite After Conversion to FTE
Our client is seeking an Information Systems Engineer to design secure, mission-focused information systems, and the applications, services, and components that support them. This role is centered on system design and architecture, not administration or operational support. The selected candidate will be responsible for following our clients Information System Engineering procedure to translate mission and customer needs into well-engineered system designs that can be confidently implemented and operated.
Responsibilities include working with stakeholders to identify and document customer requirements, security and compliance obligations, and relevant industry best practices, then translating those inputs into well-architected information system designs. The selected candidate will understand how systems progress through the full lifecycle, from proposal and concept through design, implementation, and operational deployment, and will evaluate architectural alternatives and produce clear engineering artifacts that guide implementation teams in building solutions that meet defined require
Candidates must be U.S. citizens. The company does not provide visa sponsorship for employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs complex, highly available information systems and supports their implementation to ensure mission success
- Provides clear, detailed guidance on selecting and implementing the most efficient solutions to meet business needs, including future capacity, facility requirements (such as floor layout, power, cooling, and pathways), network connectivity, data storage, backup, and monitoring
- Gathers and synthesizes system requirements from internal and external customers defining operational requirements including integration with other systems or components
- Works with cross-functional teams to convert requirements into complete, workable system solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints, while also evaluating and recommending viable alternatives

Expected Outputs (as needed):
- Requirements decomposition
- System Designs and Diagrams
- Rack elevation
- Data/Power Interconnect
- Network Architecture
- Facility requirements (floor plan, power, cooling, etc.)
- System cost estimates
- Trade and alternative studies
- Work breakdown structures
- Customer responsibility matrix
- Risk analysis matrix and risk management plan
- System architecture diagrams (logical and physical)
- Security architecture and boundary definitions
- Cloud reference architectures
