Seeking a Sr Software Applications Project Manager with 8+ years of experience; willing and able to work onsite 3-4 days a week. Need to have managed large complex internal software development projects as well as vendor software integration projects. Not looking for operations. infrastructure or manufacturing PM experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and coordinate project efforts, including scoping, estimation, resource allocation, schedule creation, budget creation, task execution, status tracking and reporting, issue management, risk management, and change management
- Coordinate integration and development of system applications to meet business needs and enhance efficiency
- Coordinate and monitor work of cross functional teams, ensuring that project steps are aligned with business objectives, schedule and budget
- Able to manage large, complex projects with little to no supervision or guidance
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative to dig into the details
- Able to challenge and clarify assumptions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify successful and unsuccessful project practices
- Manage both waterfall and agile methodology projects
ACCOUNTABILITY & REQUIREMENTS
- Accountable for the coordination and application of appropriate project management techniques and methodologies to increase probability of project success
- Responsible for facilitating communication among all involved parties
- Responsible for coordination of project efforts to maximize efficiency of resources
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, or related field, preferred.
- 8+ years of experience managing complex software development and implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and vendor integrations.
- Experience with PMBOK and Agile experience and hands on managing 3-4 small projects at a time.
- Strong skills in influential leadership, written and verbal communications, interpersonal relations, managing expectations, organization, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, negotiation, adaptability, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, team building, escalation, and critical thinking.
- Lead and coordinate project efforts, including scoping, estimation, resource allocation, schedule creation, budget creation, task execution, status tracking and reporting, issue management, risk management, and change management.
- A certification, such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or demonstrated knowledge of project management principles described in the PMBOK.
- Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, other), methodologies, and best practices. Also proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Project management process development and improvement experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC.)
- Willingness to work with technical teams on technical aspects of project deliverables.
- Get along really well with people (relationships/EQ)
- Quick study (able to get in and understand appropriate detail in new knowledge domains)
MANAGER NOTES
· Not looking for a PM whose main responsibilities have been:
o routine/less-variability work such as updates, maintenance etc.
o Hardware upgrades/migrations
o Operation Sides / production control / code delivery merging / release management and coordination
· Not looking for a PM who wore multiple hats/titles in a role.
· Ideally looking for a PM who has managed large (4 month to multi-year), complex software development projects.
· Ideally looking for a PM who has managed both internal application development, and vendor application integration.
