Seeking a Senior Product Development Specialist with strong experience in Commercial Auto insurance.

Summary

Our client’s Product Development department is looking for a Senior Product Development Specialist. The Senior Product Development Specialist will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and enhancing commercial auto insurance products. This role demands expertise in market standards, coverage forms, and customer needs, with responsibility for coverage design and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative, market-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging trends
• Assist in the development and refinement of commercial auto insurance products, including coverage features, eligibility criteria, and underwriting guidelines
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, legal, and IT teams to ensure product alignment and successful implementation
• Prepare and maintain product documentation, including coverage summaries, policy forms, and regulatory filings
• Communicate product changes and enhancements to internal stakeholders and external partners
• Support product launches and monitor initial performance to ensure products meet strategic objectives
• Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial auto insurance products within the organization
• Build and maintain dashboards and tools to track product performance and support decision-making
• Analyze product performance using data that measures sales conversion, retention, and profitability
• Use data analysis, as well as benchmarking and other qualitative work, to recommend product improvements
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best practices in product development

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related fields
• At least five years of work experience in commercial lines with at least two years of background in product development and auto insurance
• Understanding of auto insurance products, pricing, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, SQL, data visualization tools
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to lead product design initiatives from concept to launch
• Successful track record for completion of product development projects
