Seeking a Web Accessibility Analyst with ideally 3+ years experience testing applications for digital accessibility. As well as a knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines , and advanced skills using assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack.


SUMMARY

The State of Michigan (SOM) Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) Agency Services MDOT team is seeking to hire a Web Accessibility Analyst to conduct reviews for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications, which include standards for branding and digital accessibility. The contract has potential to extend beyond 2 years based upon SOM’s needs. 


Responsibilities


  • Conduct reviews of SOM websites and applications and documents for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications 

o  Test for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools including screen reader and other assistive technology 

o  Review for adherence with additional standards including branding 

o  Perform testing on desktop and mobile devices 

o  Thoroughly document review results 

  • Provide results to application support teams and stakeholders and meet with teams to explain results 
  • Work closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized 
  • Other duties as assigned 



QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

  • Some college

 

Required:

  • 1+ years of testing applications for digital accessibility 
  • 1 year working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 
  • Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
  • Advanced skills using assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack


Preferred Qualifications:

·       3+ years of testing applications for digital accessibility

·       Certification related to WCAG

·       Previous government experience
