Sr. Project Coordinator

Compensation: Up to $68K per year

Job Type: Full-Time

New York State Solar is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator (Sr. PC) to play a key role in supporting and managing solar project pipelines. This position is designed for an experienced professional with a background in project coordination who can confidently oversee multiple aspects of project execution, finances, and logistics.


The Sr. PC will work closely with Project Managers, gain exposure to all facets of project management, and will be in training to step into a Project Manager role. The ideal candidate is multifaceted, a quick learner, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will:

● Manage and oversee solar project pipelines, ensuring all projects move smoothly from initiation to closeout.

● Partner closely with Project Managers to support scheduling, onboarding/trainings, resource allocation, and issue resolution.

● Track and report on project finances, including budgets, invoices, and cost management.

● Maintain and improve project tracking systems, ensuring accurate milestones, vendor data, and compliance records.

● Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of services and materials.

● Provide clear, consistent updates to internal teams, leadership, and customers.

● Identify potential risks and escalate issues while helping to resolve challenges proactively.

● Support training and process improvements to ensure best practices across project coordination.


Job Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations, project management, or related field.

● 2+ years of experience as a project coordinator within the Solar Industry

● Strong financial acumen with experience in budget tracking and cost management.

● Proficiency in project management or CRM software; advanced organizational skills required.

● Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.

● Ambition to grow into a Project Manager role.
