On behalf of our client, an ambitious and innovative small business in York, Hardisty Hospitality is excited to present an opportunity for a talented and motivated Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to join their dynamic kitchen team.


About the Role: You will be working closely with their head chef, crafting exceptional small-plate dishes in a fast-paced and creative environment. This role offers opportunities for growth within the team, with the chance to enhance your skills while contributing to a highly regarded kitchen.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and plate dishes following the menu specifications
  • Assist the Head Chef in food prep, including cutting vegetables, making sauces, and other tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your station
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and high-quality food output
  • Follow all health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
  • Carry out additional duties as requested by management


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required – full training will be provided for the right individual
  • Familiarity with cooking methods, equipment, and procedures is beneficial
  • Ability to communicate effectively, especially with management
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor
  • Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions accurately
