The Mission (aka The Role)
Our Intero Studios creative team is looking for a strategic Freelance Website Copywriter who can turn complex B2B offerings into clear, compelling web experiences that drive action. You’re a self-starter with strong messaging instincts, a sharp editing eye, and the ability to write with both users and business goals in mind.
In this freelance, project-based role, you’ll lead website copy development for B2B clients—primarily in technology and manufacturing—working closely with creative directors, designers, and account/project managers. You’ll help shape content structure and page flow, develop SEO-informed copy, and translate research into messaging that supports UX and conversion.
Mission Objectives (Essential Functions)
- Write high-performing website copy across key page types (home, product/solution, industry, landing pages, about, and more) that clearly communicates value and drives conversion.
- Help define site architecture, content hierarchy, and page-level messaging frameworks based on user needs, intent, and business goals.
- Translate complex business concepts into customer-friendly messaging, headlines, and CTAs—without losing technical accuracy.
- Apply SEO best practices (keyword intent, metadata, internal linking recommendations, scanability, and headings) to web copy and content planning.
- Develop and maintain client-specific tone of voice guidelines and apply them consistently across all webpages.
- Edit and proofread through all page copy drafts and final implementation to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Assignments could veer into related digital deliverables such as email campaigns, blogs, banner ads, social media, and video scripts, but website copywriting is the primary focus.
Your Space Suit Specs (Requirements and Qualifications)
- 5+ years of agency experience in copywriting and content strategy (B2B tech/manufacturing strongly preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or equivalent professional experience.
- Portfolio required (website URL with portfolio or stand-alone samples).
- Comfortable in Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Strong strategic writing skills with a portfolio that demonstrates website copywriting, messaging, and B2B storytelling.
- Experience writing for B2B technology and/or manufacturing brands, including lead-gen and campaign-based work.
- Comfort writing in a UX-informed way (information hierarchy, scanning patterns, user intent, conversion-focused CTAs).
- Ability to work from research and discovery to create content that aligns with positioning and differentiators.
- Confidence collaborating cross-functionally and incorporating feedback from internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Passion for digital and AI trends, content best practices, and performance-minded copy.
- Collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in an autonomous, remote-first environment.
- Curiosity and a drive to innovate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
- Strong project management and organization skills.
- Strong understanding of digital channels.
- Formal education is not required—skill, creativity, and initiative are what matter most.
