Compensation: $1,500 to $1,700 Monthly

The Client

Intero Digital is a tech-forward digital marketing agency that has a comprehensive roster of services starting with SEO and Paid Media, Content and PR, Amazon, Omni, and Creative Services. We are a remote-first company with offices in San Diego, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, Columbus, OH, Farmington, UT, and Columbia, MO.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled WordPress developer for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend or convert to a longer-term role based on fit.

Responsibilities

• Building and customizing WordPress sites using Elementor, Breakdance, and/or Astra for most builds.
• Converting design files (Figma) into pixel-accurate, responsive builds.
• Creating reusable templates, global styles, and custom blocks/sections across client projects.
• Managing content migration and bulk updates—post/page imports, custom fields, taxonomy mapping, and data validation.
• Extending theme and builder functionality with custom PHP, JavaScript, and CSS when the builder alone won't get there.
• Handling plugin configuration, performance tuning, and pre-launch QA.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Elementor and other WordPress page builders (not just familiarity—you should know both well), plus Astra theme customization.
• Solid understanding of WordPress data architecture: custom post types, taxonomies, ACF/custom fields, and template hierarchy.
• Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and WordPress hook and filter systems.
• Detail-oriented with builds—you catch broken responsive breakpoints, mismatched global styles, and content mapping errors before they ship.
• Able to work US business hours from 8am to 5pm EST.

Nice to Have

• Experience working across many WordPress sites or in an agency environment.
• Familiarity with WooCommerce, multisite, or headless WordPress setups.
• Experience with staging/deployment workflows and site migrations.
