The Role
The Fractional CFO will be a key member of the leadership team, owning all financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning. You’re a numbers genius who thrives on precision, financial modeling, and actionable insights. You bring sharp attention to detail, fluency in tools like Excel, ADP, and SAGE, and the leadership skills to guide a remote, multicultural team with empathy, structure, and proactivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Build and maintain clear, data-driven financial dashboards and reporting tools.
- Partner with leadership to shape the company’s financial strategy and ensure alignment with growth goals.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, audits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Analyze trends and develop forecasts that drive strategic business decisions.
- Own and optimize usage of Excel, SAGE, and ADP for maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement financial controls, policies, and procedures that support scaling operations.
- Lead and mentor a distributed finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with HR and Operations to align compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
- Communicate complex financial data to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks proactively, maintaining a calm and solution-oriented presence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a senior financial role (preferably in an agency, SaaS, or eCommerce environment).
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and team leadership.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience with SAGE, ADP, and financial reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide a remote, cross-generational, multicultural team.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to present financial insights in a digestible way for all stakeholders.
- Ability to lead from the front: proactive, collaborative, and calm under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience working in a remote-first environment.
- Familiarity with automation and AI tools related to finance and reporting.
