The Mission (aka The Role)

The SEO Strategist guides the strategic direction for their service line, ensuring every initiative ladders back to meaningful business outcomes. You鈥檒l architect SEO roadmaps, lead strategic discussions, and translate performance into long-term growth opportunities.

This role blends strategy with hands-on execution. You鈥檒l work alongside account managers and cross-service teams, elevating SEO from a channel to a business driver and ensuring work across departments connects into a cohesive visibility strategy.

The candidate may be based in any of the following US states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WI.

Mission Objectives (Essential Functions)

Strategic Ownership

  • Own the strategic direction for your service line, ensuring initiatives map to client business objectives and department-wide goals.
  • Design and refine SEO roadmaps, providing both long-term vision and actionable steps for execution.
  • Translate performance insights into growth strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.

Client Strategy and Execution

  • Support account managers, other service-line strategists, and related service-line roles in strategic client discussions, contributing insights and guidance as appropriate (e.g., handoffs, strategy calls, QBRs, and reporting discussions).
  • Elevate client conversations beyond executional updates, framing SEO as a driver of broader business impact.
  • Provide high-level recommendations on resource allocation, service mix, and roadmap prioritization.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns, ensuring risks are surfaced early and solutions are aligned to long-term success.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Partner with account managers, other service-line strategists, and related service-line roles to deliver unified client strategies that integrate SEO into the larger marketing plan.
  • Support internal knowledge sharing through debriefs, service refinement discussions, and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with SEO directors for training, mentorship, guidance on evolving SEO trends, and support with escalated issues.

Performance Oversight and Innovation

  • Oversee advanced SEO analysis, turning complex data into strategic insights and growth opportunities.
  • Stay ahead of industry shifts (algorithm changes, AI-driven search, and competitive landscape); proactively adjust strategies to maintain performance; and guide clients and internal teams on implications.
  • Ensure reporting highlights business impact, not just performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes that enhance service delivery at scale.
  • Contribute to shaping department-wide innovation, helping evolve Intero鈥檚 SEO approach as the search landscape changes.

Your Space Suit Specs (Requirements and Qualifications)

  • Collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in an autonomous, remote-first environment.

  • Collaborative, but able to work independently.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week (in-office or remote).
  • Formal education not required鈥攕kills, integrity, and initiative matter most.

Bonus Program

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for Intero Digital's quarterly Growth Bonus Program. The program is designed to reward team members who contribute directly to company growth.
