The Mission (aka The Role)

Intero Digital is seeking a Paid Media Strategist to lead strategy for a portfolio of paid media clients across channels such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads, YouTube, and other paid platforms as needed. This role is responsible for translating business goals into media strategies, identifying growth opportunities, guiding optimization priorities, and leading performance conversations with clients.

The position is a client-facing role for someone who can combine hands-on paid media expertise with strategic thinking, cross-channel collaboration, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate may be based in any of the following US states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a pure execution role. We are looking for someone who can connect platform performance to broader business outcomes, collaborate across teams, and help clients understand how paid media contributes to growth.

Mission Objectives (Essential Functions)

  • Own paid media strategy for an assigned book of business.
  • Build growth plans aligned to client goals, budgets, and funnel stage.
  • Lead strategic recommendations across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube, Microsoft Ads, programmatic, and other paid channels when applicable.
  • Translate campaign data into clear business insights, action plans, and client-ready recommendations.
  • Partner with internal teams, including SEO, analytics, creative, web, CRO, and account leadership, to build more integrated strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion through testing, audience development, landing page improvements, creative strategy, and channel mix evolution.
  • Support onboarding, audits, forecasting, and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Use AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, analysis, reporting quality, and strategic output.
  • Help navigate client questions, concerns, and objections with confidence and professionalism.

What Success Looks Like

  • You can confidently explain not just what happened, but why it happened and what to do next.
  • You can manage performance strategies for clients with meaningful monthly budgets.
  • You elevate conversations beyond tactical optimizations into broader business strategy.
  • You collaborate well with other service lines and know how paid media fits into a larger marketing ecosystem.
  • You are comfortable balancing analysis, communication, prioritization, and execution support.

Your Space Suit Specs (Requirements and Qualifications)

  • 3–6+ years of experience in paid media, digital marketing, or performance marketing.
  • Experience managing or influencing strategy for accounts with monthly budgets of $20,000+.
  • Hands-on experience in platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Ads; Microsoft Ads, YouTube, or programmatic experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of campaign structure, audience strategy, testing frameworks, attribution, and conversion measurement.
  • Comfortable using GA4 and performance data to diagnose issues and identify opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate with clients clearly and confidently, including difficult performance conversations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with AI tools to improve workflows, reporting, analysis, or creative ideation is strongly preferred.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in an autonomous, remote-first environment.
  • Curiosity and a drive to innovate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital channels.
  • Formal education is not required—skill, creativity, and initiative are what matter most.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven agency experience.
  • Cross-channel or multi-service collaboration.
  • Experience presenting strategy in QBRs or recurring client meetings.
  • Familiarity with landing page strategy, CRO, or full-funnel planning.
