royall are currently partnering with one of London’s leading, multi-award-winning creative events agencies to find a high-calibre Project Director. Known for reimagining B2B and B2E experiences, this agency works alongside an enviable roster of global tech, fintech, and lifestyle clients.

The Role

As Project Director, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of high-value, complex live experiences—with a strong focus on large-scale B2B conferences, brand activations, and exhibitions.

Moving seamlessly between high-level client strategy and granular operational detail, you will set the pace for delivery, run tight project financials, and champion creative ambition from initial pitch through to onsite delivery and final reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Delivery Leadership: Lead complex projects from scoping, budgeting, and timeline creation through to live execution, debrief, and close-out.
• Commercial Ownership: Hold total accountability for project health, fees, forecasting, purchasing, and reconciliation (utilising Paprika software).
• Creative & Production Integration: Translate complex strategic and creative concepts into practical, technical, and budget-feasible delivery plans without compromising vision or quality.
• Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the trusted, senior point of operational control for clients and partner closely with Client Services to spot growth opportunities.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring: Line manage junior and mid-level project managers, set clear ways of working, oversee resourcing/freelancers, and cultivate a calm, supportive team environment.
• Onsite Leadership: Lead onsite teams at a senior level, ensuring clear roles, seamless escalation routes, and an exceptional client experience.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Agency Track Record: Extensive experience delivering complex, large-scale B2B events, global conferences, and multi-faceted exhibitions within a fast-paced agency environment.
• Commercial Acumen: Deep experience building, managing, and reconciling high-value project budgets and maintaining strong profitability.
• Production & Creative Mastery: Strong technical grounding and a clear understanding of production workflows, content integration, and spatial design.
• People Leadership: Demonstrated experience line managing, mentoring, and setting delivery standards for project managers and coordinators.
• Operational Precision: Exceptional grasp of complex logistics, risk management, GDPR compliance within live event environments, and resourcing structures.
• Pitch Experience: Comfortable contributing operational insights and delivery framing to pitches and RFPs (highly desirable).
