SUMMARY


AXS's new General Manager of Sports and Premium Ticketing will be responsible for all facets of leading and managing the Sports and Premium Ticketing Unit across North America, including implementing plans for executing all existing client contracts, managing costs, and developing revenue growth. This role includes overseeing Account Management, Client Services, Sales, Marketing, Implementation, and Ticketing Strategy execution. AXS is responsible for planning and delivering ticketing products and services throughout the event life cycle to meet or exceed the budget.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Strategic Leadership:Develop and implement a long-term Sports and Premium Ticketing business and product strategy in collaboration with other senior management.
  • Oversee multiple disciplines (Account Management, Client Services, Ticketing Strategy, etc.) associated with the Sports and Premium Ticketing business unit staff.
  • Provide direction and oversight for Sports and Premium Ticketing leadership staff. Ensure the delivery of contract deliverables and business growth for clients while seeking integrated, efficient, and effective inter-departmental processes.
  • Manage annual budgets, ensuring efficient revenue and expenditure approval.
  • Advise Sports and Premium Ticketing leadership on client quarterly business review execution.
  • Innovation and Marketing Leadership:Work with Ticket Strategy and Product Management to innovate and ensure AXS ticketing has the market leading tools for season tickets and premium ticketing for our current and future clients. 
  • Guide the Sports and Premium Ticketing strategy for AXS by improving Account Management, Client Services, Sales, Marketing, Implementation and Ticketing Strategy to maximize client satisfaction while protecting AXS business interests. Provide oversight to the business unit and course correction when needed.
  • Sales, Client Relations, and Industry Representation:Ensure alignment with Business Development to sign and renew clients on profitable deal structures.
  • Provide leads to the AXS BD team.
  • Participate in pitch meetings with the AXS Business Development team.
  • Represent AXS as an industry expert at conferences and industry meetings.
  • Relationship Building and Networking:Network and build relationships with ticketing and premium seating teams across NA sports teams and venues. Maintain current client relationships.
  • Travel to cover road shows, conferences, and events, evangelize AXS, and seek new clients, projects, and partners.
  • Partner with clients to improve their business.
  • Additional Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned by the SVP, COO, and/or CEO.


QUALIFICATIONS 


  • Education:BA/BS Degree (4 years) in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Advanced Degree Preferred.
  • Professional Experience:10+ years of hands-on experience inside a sports team or premium ticketing division of a major arena.
  • 6+ years of experience developing and managing senior staff, ensuring proper staffing of departments, overseeing the hiring process, and facilitating employee growth and development.
  • 6+ years of experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets related to season tickets and/or premium ticketing, including revenue generation, cost control, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience overseeing ticketing operations, sales, marketing, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization for a team or a premium seating division. 
  • Negotiation and Relationship Building:Experience negotiating contracts and agreements to enhance operational efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Working knowledge and experience with key aspects of the season ticket lifecycle, the creation of value for premium or suite ticket offerings, as well as the day-to-day operations of the teams asked to manage those products.
  • Proven success in senior management working for teams, venue, or technology provider to a venue or teams.
  • Proven leadership qualities and organizational skills; ability to manage and motivate sales staff to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Establish relationships with teams and venues across multiple sports a plus.
  • Skills and Traits:The candidate demonstrates superior written, verbal, organizational, and negotiating skills; creative conceptualization.
  • Extremely well-organized with the ability to multitask effectively and work under extremely tight deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to work with equally strong personalities.
  • Ability to represent AXS to the highest levels of teams and premium ticketing. The ability to build relationships over time and participate in pitch meetings with the Sales team to secure profitable deal structures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the season, suite, and premium ticketing industry, including industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budget planning, and resource allocation to optimize financial performance.
  • Ability to adapt strategies to address evolving industry dynamics and market trends, actively involving senior management in the strategic planning process.
  • Proven ability to inspire and mentor a diverse team of professionals within the live event domain.
  • Flexibility and Travel:Ability and willingness to work long hours and travel, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Pay Scale:The pay scale for this position ranges from $220,000 to $320,000.
