BACKGROUND


The Dallas Wings are a professional basketball team based in Arlington, Texas, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded in Detroit, Michigan before the 1998 WNBA season began; the team moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma before the 2010 season; then moved to Dallas prior to the start of the 2016 season. The Dallas Wings play home games at the College Park Center on the University of Texas at Arlington campus.


In recent years, the organization has continued to invest in its future with the development of a new state-of-the-art practice facility and plans for a new arena, both of which underscore the team's long-term commitment to the Dallas-Fort Worth region and the growth of women's professional basketball.


SUMMARY


The Vice President, Activation will oversee the day-to-day management, execution, and activation of corporate partnership accounts for the Dallas Wings. This leader will deliver exceptional client service and develop impactful marketing activations to drive innovation, value, and growth for all partners.


The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strategic thinking, and organizational excellence to ensure partnership deliverables are executed to the highest standard. This role will also collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to design customized presentations, proposals, and recap materials that strengthen relationships and maximize sponsorship impact.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage all aspects of sponsorship activation, ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and delivery of world-class client service.
  • Lead the development of customized sales materials, proposals, presentations, and post-event recap reports.
  • Help ideate and build custom campaigns/assets in conjunction with partnerships team. 
  • Manage partnership activation team; oversee account managers and serve as a mentor to them in their growth and development. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute partnership campaigns and event deliverables.
  • Manage partner marketing campaigns and track client engagement metrics. 
  • Identify upsell and renewal opportunities to increase annual sponsor investment.
  • Utilize research tools to evaluate partnership performance and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Oversee key sponsorship elements including signage, ticketing, and digital asset management.
  • Manage additional special projects and initiatives as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate partnership activation within a major sports team, agency, or league.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute creative, results-driven sponsorship programs.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Availability to work non-traditional hours and on-site during games.
