BACKGROUND


SeatGeek is the live entertainment platform that’s rethinking ticketing by caring more about fans, teams and venues. We're powering a new, open entertainment industry where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues and shows have seamless access to their audiences.

 

SUMMARY

 

You’ll oversee relationships with all rightsholders who interact with SeatGeek’s ticketing solution: clients, partners, and promoters. Your team will manage our rightsholder base, ensuring that these organizations and their fans are getting the best version of SeatGeek. Every client and partner should be able to attest to the tangible and unique value that SeatGeek provides to their business.


In addition, you'll determine how to drive better economics for SeatGeek and the partner. Ticket sales today happen across a variety of marketplaces. As the “official partner” of many leagues and teams, we want to funnel more of those sales through SeatGeek.com, generating upside for both parties. Our interests with our partners are directly aligned, and we need a leader who will help us realize this opportunity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

SeatGeek's roster of partners will define our future. By focusing on the growth and profitability of the existing business, the Vice President, Existing Business will help to improve the company's bottom line and position it for future growth.

 

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Employing a data-driven mindset to determine high-impact wins to drive commercial wins for the client and SeatGeek
  • Ensuring happy clients and building strong relationships with executives at our clients and within our industry
  • Championing the client perspective within SeatGeek (e.g. sharing important context, data, and industry trends that make a client product request)
  • Identifying and addressing global client pain points
  • Working with other departments to ensure that global client needs are met

 

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or Operations
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the sports industry (at a team or league) in a senior function, potentially in business development
  • Understanding of the operating and pricing dynamics in a multi-party market environment
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Passion for team building, coaching and retaining talent
  • Excellent business acumen, influence, business case and ROI depth and a commercial mindset
  • Ability to put an ROI to anything and everything (required)
  • Exceptional delegation and empowerment skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management depth and ability to prioritize for other teams and advocate for others
  • Passion for SeatGeek’s products and services
  • Strong negotiation skills; ability to apply concepts of supply, demand and ROI for SeatGeek and suppliers to ensure projects & contracts are set up for mutual success
  • Strong sense for reading the room and reading people
  • Known for ability to build and manage relationships
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with varying departments, specifically marketing, legal, data, and finance
  • Personability; ability to work well with internal teams and also be a strong external presence for SeatGeek’s client success strategy
