SUMMARY

 

The Game Presentation & Entertainment Executive serves as the visionary leader responsible for how live games and major events are presented, experienced, and remembered by fans. This role is central to shaping the emotional energy, atmosphere, and identity of game days and marquee events.

 

The in-venue experience is a primary brand touchpoint, delivering unforgettable moments for fans, players, partners, media, and staff through high-impact video production, music curation, live entertainment, theatrical elements, technology integrations, and innovative content strategies.

 

This role provides direct leadership and oversight of all game presentation and entertainment functions, including in-game production, video board operations, music programming, and fan engagement elements. The position requires strong strategic vision, creative leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and articulate an innovative, forward-thinking vision and strategic framework for the Game Presentation & Entertainment department, including organizational structure, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Ideate, design, and execute the organization’s game presentation philosophy, in-venue “brand” identity, and overall event coordination.
  • Collaborate with production teams to conceptualize, direct, and oversee high-impact video board content, graphics packages, replays, and storytelling elements for all home games and venue events.
  • Conceptualize, produce, and implement creative in-venue entertainment programming, including pre-game/in-game/post-gameshows, mascot interactions, fan contests, gameday performances, in-game activations, and thematic elements.
  • Curate and strategically program music selections tailored to game context, opponent, in-game moments, current events, cultural relevance, and innovative fan engagement opportunities; maintain and evolve a dynamic music library.
  • Analyze consumer research, fan feedback, attendance data, and industry benchmarks to identify enhancements, establish best-in-class practices, and drive continuous improvement in the gameday experience.
  • Partner with IT, broadcast, and production teams to stay ahead of trends in game presentation technology, LED/video systems, AR/VR integrations, interactive elements, and broadcasting to elevate fan interaction.
  • Develop and manage gameday communication protocols, timing sheets, run-of-show documents, scripts, and contingency plans to ensure flawless execution.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, marketing, corporate partnerships, community relations, and other departments to integrate creative ideas, fulfill sponsor activations, and support broader organizational objectives.
  • Ensure seamless integration and execution of all promotional elements (sponsored or organic), gameday activities, and fan-focused initiatives during games.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, facility operations, entertainers, performers, and affiliates to support production needs.
  • Establish standard operating procedures, checklists, training programs, and a culture of accountability, process excellence, and high performance within the department.
  • Maintain compliance with all league rules, regulations, and guidelines related to game presentation, venue entertainment, and operations; build strong relationships with the league office for best practice sharing and collaboration.
  • Evaluate post-game effectiveness of entertainment, promotions, and presentation activities to inform future improvements.
  • Support league-wide and team enterprise initiatives as the organization pursues new opportunities in fan engagement and venue innovation.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Extensive experience and proven success in live sports/event production, with deep expertise in game presentation, in-venue entertainment, video production, creative direction, event logistics, and technical operations in a major professional sports environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in sports/entertainment, with at least 5–7 years in senior leadership roles overseeing game presentation, entertainment, or production teams.
  • Creative visionary with innovative ideas that connect emotionally with fans, bring the team brand to life, and deliver one-of-a-kind gameday experiences.
  • Demonstrated success building strong, credible relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and league personnel.
  • Broad knowledge of sports entertainment, media/broadcast industries; strong passion for pop culture, music trends, and emerging technologies to keep presentations fresh and relevant.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to shifting needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: quickly gathers/analyzes information and develops effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; speaks persuasively, listens actively, facilitates meetings, manages change effectively, and builds team commitment.
  • Experience managing complex production budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships.
  • Extremely flexible with non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position requires attendance at all home games, occasional away games, team events, and related activations.
