Regional Sales Manager Job Description:

ABOUT US

Kor-Chem is a specialty chemical distribution company with over 50 years of family ownership. Our sweet spot is the specialty

chemical market — institutional cleaning, industrial products, pigment dispersions, and graphic arts. We don't try to be

everything to everyone; we go deep in the markets we serve and do it exceptionally well.

Our clients are small to medium-sized businesses with $1M to $50M in revenue across the USA. They choose Kor-Chem

because they value customer service, product quality, and technical expertise. If you have experience building relationships

with this type of customer — or want that experience — this role is built for you.

YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE IF YOU

• Have a Winning Attitude — you compete hard, take pride in your results, and don't make excuses.

• Always Do the Right Thing — with customers, with teammates, and with yourself.

• Are a Customer-Dedicated Problem Solver — you see obstacles as opportunities to earn loyalty.

• Embrace Perpetual Improvement — you're never satisfied with good enough and are always looking for better.

THE ROLE

This is a hunter seat. You own a multi-state Southeast territory — building distributor partnerships, prospecting new end-

customer accounts, and growing an established book of business. You plan your week, prioritize your accounts, and execute

without daily direction. Our National Sales Manager, coaches and supports the team, but the territory is yours to run.

If you need structure handed to you, this isn't the right fit. If you're self-directed, economically motivated, and thrive on the

road, it is.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Territory Development & Prospecting

• Build and execute a territory business plan that identifies target accounts, prioritizes opportunities, and drives

consistent new business acquisition.

• Prospect and develop new distributor and end-customer relationships across institutional cleaning verticals.

• Manage an active pipeline of prospective accounts; track activity, follow-up, and close rates using CRM tools.

• Represent Kor-Chem at industry trade shows, association events, and customer sites to build brand presence and

generate leads.

Distributor & Channel Management

• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key distributor accounts within the territory.

• Execute annual Strategic Growth Plans with top distributor partners, including revenue targets, product category

expansion, and joint end-customer initiatives.

• Train distributor sales reps on Kor-Chem products, applications, and selling techniques to drive pull-through demand.

• Coordinate with internal customer service and operations teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer

experience.

Account Management & Retention

• Maintain and grow revenue within established accounts through regular face-to-face visits, proactive problem-solving,

and solution-based selling.

• Prepare and deliver product presentations, technical demonstrations, and proposals tailored to customer applications

and business needs.

• Identify and resolve customer concerns quickly; serve as the primary point of contact for account escalations.

• Actively identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts to expand product penetration.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

• Submit weekly activity reports covering calls made, accounts visited, pipeline status, and key developments.

• Provide timely feedback to management on competitive activity, pricing pressures, product gaps, and market

conditions.

• Maintain accurate and current account data in the CRM; use it as the primary tool for territory planning and forecasting.

• Track performance against revenue targets, margin objectives, and growth accelerators; adjust territory approach

accordingly.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• Proven track record in territory-based B2B outside sales with demonstrated ability to grow revenue independently.

• Experience in the JanSan, specialty chemical distribution, industrial products, or closely related industry preferred.

• Strong consultative selling skills — ability to identify customer needs, position solutions, and close new business.

• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy; self-directed, organized, and disciplined in managing a multi-

account territory.

• Proficiency with CRM software for pipeline management, activity tracking, and forecasting.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage and build credibility at all levels from distributor reps

to end-customer decision makers.

• Strong negotiation skills; able to navigate pricing discussions, competitive objections, and contract conversations.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

• Willingness and ability to travel 50–70% overnight across the assigned territory without exception.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Minimum 3–5 years of outside B2B sales experience, with preference for candidates coming from JanSan distribution,

specialty chemical sales, or adjacent product categories.

• Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding territory revenue targets.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands-

on sales experience will be considered.

• Prior experience selling through distribution channels (distributor + end-customer model) is a strong plus.

HOW WE MANAGE — WE RUN ON EOS

Kor-Chem operates on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). That means structure, clarity, and accountability — not

micromanagement. As a member of this team, your leader will:

• Give you clear direction and make sure you have the tools to succeed.

• Communicate expectations openly and consistently.

• Delegate appropriately and act with the greater good in mind.

• Meet with you one-on-one quarterly, or more frequently if needed.

• Recognize and reward your performance — results matter here and they get noticed.

We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team contributes to our shared results. In this role, you will be

directly accountable for:

• Weekly territory revenue

• YTD gross profit vs. budget

• New account acquisition and pipeline activity

COMPENSATION & WHAT WE OFFER

• Competitive base salary with uncapped commission — your earnings grow directly with your territory performance.

• High autonomy and direct impact — you own your territory and are recognized for results.

• Hands-on coaching and support from an experienced sales management team.

• A focused, specialty product line with deep technical support and strong customer loyalty

Reports To: National Sales Manager

Territory: Multi-State Region (Southeast)

Travel Requirement: 50–70% overnight travel required; this is a field-based role, not office-based

Compensation: Competitive base salary + uncapped commission
