About the Role
As a Commercial Electrical Estimator / Project Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing plans, submitting competitive bids, and then seeing those jobs through to completion. You’ll work across a wide range of commercial project types and sizes, from $20,000 tenant improvements to $2 million design-build installations. This is a dynamic role for someone ready to flex both their technical knowledge and leadership skills—ideal for an experienced estimator who’s ready to take full ownership of projects.
Estimating Responsibilities:
- Review plans, specs, and proposals to develop accurate labor and material estimates
- Prepare competitive bid packages using Accubid (preferred) or similar tools (We will want them to use Accubid)
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct job site walks as needed
- Provide value engineering and creative problem-solving in the bidding process
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Manage awarded jobs from start to finish—contract review, scheduling, and closeout
- Coordinate field staff, subs, and suppliers for timely, on-budget execution
- Monitor budgets, issue change orders, and manage documentation
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and code adherence
- Serve as the primary client contact—building strong, lasting relationships
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure progress, quality, and safety
Requirements:
- 5+ years in commercial electrical estimating and/or project management
- Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid preferred)
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and local codes
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
- Self-driven with a collaborative mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical Journeyman or Master License
- Experience with low voltage systems (fire alarm, access control, voice/data, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
