Position Overview
The CDL Class A driver is responsible for safe and timely local delivery of various commodities and no-touch freight to serve the
needs of our customers, primarily based at and surrounding CVG airport. Vehicle and cargo inspections, appropriate log work and
documentation, adherence to driving rules and regulations required. The CDL Class A driver is a full-time position, plus overtime and
weekend work.
Supervision Received and Exercised
The CDL Class A Driver reports to the director of operations for truckload services and designee(s).
The CDL Class A Driver exercises no supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Maneuver vehicles into loading and unloading positions. Perform drop and hooks as needed.
• Regularly inspect equipment to ensure safe working order of mechanical and emergency equipment. Maintain cleanliness
of cab and trailer. Report mechanical and safety issues to supervisor.
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, TSA and related federal, state, and local laws and safety procedures.
• Maintain electronic log of hours and mileage using company-provided tablet and software. Plan routes with supervisor to
meet delivery schedule and deadlines.
• Inspect cargo to ensure safe, accurate, and secure delivery.
• Collect and review all documentation to confirm and follow delivery instructions. Employ professional communication with
clients and co-workers to obtain necessary signatures upon completion.
• Recognize and identify hazmat and other safety-related signage as well as potential safety hazards, following handling and
safety protocols as directed.
• Maintain communication with office staff, supervisor, and designee(s) to ensure completion of tasks.
Team Responsibilities and Duties
• Employ professionalism through performance of all tasks and communication with staff, customers, and other visitors.
• Take initiative as a team player to problem-solve and assist where needed. Complete other duties as assigned by director of
operations for truckload services and designee(s).
• Follow TSA and other safety regulations as directed by director of operations for truckload services and designee(s). TSA
testing and certification provided by employer and required for employment.
Qualifications
• Valid CDL Class A driver’s license and DOT physical card required.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsements required.
• Good MVR and safe driving record required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, and drive for long periods of time required.
• Exceptional teamwork, communication, attention to detail, and integrity required.
• Fluency in English and legal eligibility to work in the United States required.
• One or more years of CDL Class A driving experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Air cargo transportation experience preferred.
Pay and Benefits
