The Opportunity  
This role offers a high level of responsibility and visibility within the organization, providing leadership for the people experience and ensuring alignment across teams and priorities.
You will oversee the full range of human-resource functions, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, compensation planning, and employee relations. The work is both strategic and hands-on, providing the opportunity to develop new programs while supporting day-to-day operations.
This position calls for an experienced HR professional who brings sound judgment, strong communication, and solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities  
As the Manager, Human Resources you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:
1.      Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Serve as the primary HR lead for the Saskatoon operations office, supporting approximately 100 employees across engineering, finance, and technical teams.
- Partner with senior leaders to align people strategy with business priorities, ensuring HR remains a trusted advisor and solution-driven partner.
- Lead performance management, compensation strategy, and program development from concept to execution.
- Contribute to workforce planning and budgeting, preparing insights and recommendations for executive review.
2.      Program Development & Change Management
- Develop and implement HR programs from the ground up, including compensation frameworks, performance systems, onboarding processes, and goal-setting tools.
- Lead change management efforts for new HR standards, ensuring adoption through clear communication and engagement.
- Develop and launch cultural and compliance initiatives such as respectful workplace, Indigenous awareness, and cultural sensitivity training.
- Strengthen HR processes and reporting through effective use of software and data analytics to support decision-making.
3.      Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead recruitment for corporate and technical functions, partnering with hiring managers to shape role profiles and close offers.
- Contribute to annual workforce forecasting and talent mapping aligned with project milestones.
4.      Employee Relations & Culture
- Be the first point of contact for employee questions, providing approachable, solution-focused HR support.
- Promote engagement through employee events, communications, and well-being initiatives that build connection and morale.
- Build trust and approachability through empathy, consistency, and authentic communication.
- Collaborate with leadership to foster a culture rooted in honesty, respect, resilience, and accountability.
Qualifications  
As the Manager, Human Resources, you will possess the following qualities:
The Essentials (Hard Skills):
- Post Secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent experience in HR leadership will also be considered.
- Minimum 7 years of HR experience, including strategic program development and hands-on operations.
- Experience in mining, construction, energy, or other industrial sectors is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing performance management, compensation, and engagement programs.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance, and employee relations.
- Experience leading full-cycle recruitment across technical and professional disciplines.
- Proficient with HRIS and data-driven reporting (experience with SuccessFactors software is an asset).
