In this role you’ll lead critical electrical projects, drive the development and mentorship of your team and make an impact in the community.



Key Responsibilities

As the Working Electrical Supervisor, you will work safely and collaboratively and are responsible for:


Project Management:

  • Ensure key project timelines and deadlines are followed and maintained, providing updates to Industrial Manager and clients.
  • Provide daily updates to Field Manager, eMobile and updating Field Time.
  • Maintain daily site journals, weekly project planner updates and monthly progress reports for site construction.
  • Resource forecasting by managing labour, equipment, and material resources to ensure availability when needed. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for on-time material delivery and confirm receipt to packing slips.
  • Ensure project execution by developing and communicating a site plan to the team, assigning, and overseeing tasks to each Electrician and managing all sub-contractors hired by Impact Energy.
  • Provide accurate project costing reports and payroll by maintaining time and materials records in Field Time and eMobile.
  • Execute maintenance agreements and bring new estimates back from service calls.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead the growth and development of the Oil & Gas team by providing strength and opportunity-based feedback to Apprentices and Journeypersons and site training as needed. In addition, complete site orientations to new team members.
  • Collaborate with the Industrial Manager to handle necessary disciplinary actions or termination. 
  • Embrace a culture of knowledge sharing and learning by sharing your expertise with those new to the electrical trade.
  • Conduct operational management by overseeing the regular maintenance of service trucks.
  • Actively engage with your team and maintain high morale through open communication and by seeking their input in daily planning and activities.
  • Attend all Team Huddles and Team Meetings to contribute to cohesion.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Oversee and review daily work completed by Electricians to ensure Impact Energy and client’s standards are met.
  • Uphold a zero lost time and injury rating on site by; enforcing all Health & Safety policies, ensuring safety communication and sign offs are completed daily or as needed, and assisting Team Members in Health & Safety emergencies.

Hands-On Electrical Work:

  • Actively participate in projects including trenching and laying conduit, pulling, and terminating wires, and operating trencher if trained and certified.
  • Troubleshoot any issues, recommending repairs or replacements solutions.
  • Safely operate power construction tools and equipment and ensure team members are properly trained. Ensure all tools and equipment maintain optimal functionality and safety, removing defective items promptly.
  • Prevent hazards by maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

 

Qualifications

As the Working Electrical Supervisor, you will bring:

  • Hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Construction Electrician.
  • At least 5 years experience as a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Must posses or be willing to obtain safety tickets including H2S Alive, Scot, WHMIS and Client Specific Orientation. Assistance with certifications is available for qualified individuals.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as trench digging, conduit laying and heavy lifting.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams, and lead and mentor others.
  • Highly skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards on site.
  • Effectively build trust, manage conflicts effectively, and foster a trustworthy work environment.
