Position Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday

Our Client

PBN Construction is more than a construction company. Proudly Indigenous-owned, PBN has grown from a northern-focused operation into a diversified, Saskatchewan-based organization with a strong and expanding footprint across the province. From large-scale earthworks to complex, multi-million-dollar infrastructure and mining support projects, PBN is known for reliability, safety, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Beyond traditional construction, PBN plays a critical role in supporting mining operations, delivering project management, site supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and heavy equipment operation. Their teams work where the action is: in high-performance, industrial

environments that demand precision, safety, and teamwork.

At the core of PBN’s success is a culture rooted in accountability, continuous improvement, and pride in craftsmanship. If you’re a skilled trades professional who values safety, respects the work, and takes ownership of doing the job right, you’ll fit right in.

The Opportunity

In construction and mining projects, timing is everything. A delayed shipment. A missed lead time. A supplier misalignment. Any one of these can ripple through a project schedule.

PBN Construction is seeking a Procurement Specialist who understands that procurement isn’t just about buying, it’s about strategy, foresight, and control.

In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of project execution and supply chain performance. You will develop procurement plans aligned with schedules and budgets, source and negotiate with vendors, manage purchase orders, and ensure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

You’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Logistics, and Finance, providing visibility into procurement status, identifying cost-saving opportunities, mitigating risk, and ensuring procurement data is accurate and actionable.

If you’re someone who thinks ahead, spots market trends, negotiates confidently, and keeps projects moving through strong supplier relationships and disciplined purchasing practices, this is your chance to make a measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

As the Procurement Specialist , you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

  • Develop, issue, and manage purchase orders and procurement documentation in alignment with internal approval processes and cost controls.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable, competitive supply.
  • Coordinate with project teams and logistics to track deliveries, expedite orders, and resolve supply issues.

3. Risk Management & Cost Optimization

  • Monitor procurement performance including spend tracking, supplier lead times, and market trends.
  • Identify supply chain risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support informed decision-making through market analysis and procurement reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

4. Reporting & Data Integrity

  • Maintain accurate procurement data and reporting.
  • Provide visibility into purchase status and support project and management decision-making.

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of procurement or supply chain experience within mining, industrial construction, or heavy equipment environments.
