The Opportunity

PBN Construction is seeking an experienced Millwright to support a shutdown project at McLean Lake. This is a hands-on, high-impact role working on critical mining equipment and mechanical systems.

Shutdown work requires focus, efficiency, and strong collaboration. You will be part of a skilled team responsible for ensuring essential equipment is serviced, repaired, and operational, safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

As a Millwright, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Equipment Maintenance & Mechanical Repair

• Service, maintain, and repair underground mechanical systems and mining equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical breakdowns and complete timely, effective repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

2. Troubleshooting & Analysis

• Identify root causes of equipment failures and provide data for cause and failure analysis.
• Maintain accurate repair records and equipment history documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to mine site safety regulations and company safety protocols.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety practices and hazard identification.
• Maintain required certifications and training for underground mining work.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright / Industrial Mechanic (Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission preferred). Fourth-year apprentices will be considered.
• Underground mining experience (strongly preferred).
• Proven experience working on underground mining equipment (mandatory).
• Valid GMSA (General Mine Safety Awareness).
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Valid WHMIS and SCOT training.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in underground conditions.
• Comfort working shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight work as required.
• You must be safety-driven, dependable, and comfortable working in diverse and demanding environments.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; experience with QuickBooks Desktop is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a transaction-heavy environment.
